Sure RIM has great phones but I wouldn’t pay $17,000 for any of them, no matter how much money I’d have. But since on eBay everything is possible, a bid for the BlackBerry 8900 Javelin has been won at $17,100.00. Is that person that desperate to get the Javelin? Why not buy a better RIM phone? The Bold? The Thunder?

Or did somebody else buy the device? You know, from the competition? Considering that the Javelin hasn’t been released yet that might just be it.

While we’re all waiting to get our hands on a Bold or Thunder, Research in Motion has more phones coming. Such a phone is the BlackBerry Javelin and we have some leaked pictures filled with details and features:

• 512 MHz processor
• 256 MB of onboard flash memory
• hot-swappable microSD slot
• 460 x 360 HVGA+ display
• Wi-Fi with UMA and GPS
• 3.2 megapixel camera.

The phone doesn’t have 3G support and it will be available some time next year.

We have more leaked photos of RIM’s Javelin. The BlackBerry Javelin is supposed to be one of the newest addition to the Berry family. While we still don’t have an official release date or a price, we can fantasize about it just by looking at its specs. That’s of course if we aren’t Apple people!

The BlackBerry Javelin as spotted in this picture will have some of the following features:

• Quad-band GSM/EDGE
• GPS
• WiFi

May be the mysterious code that surfaced a few days ago wasn’t off the mark after all. Javelin, one of the many BlackBerry devices rumored to be in the works from RIM has been spotted in the wild and if rumors are to be believed, then RIM will be taking a step back and let 3G slip on this full QWERTY business phone. Other details point to the inclusion of a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, and a huge display. You might as well go ahead and invest on your new BlackBerry Bold in July, as this 2.5G device plans to break out in mid-2009.
