  • Spinning launches iPhone App

The Apple iPhone App store has received a big amount of new applications recently, and one of them is iSpinning made by Spinning. The “i” before the company’s name makes it an Apple product, right?

Made for the iPhone and iPod touch users that enjoy cycling, the main feature is to provide real-time information about the riders heart-rate and other health details. Thanks to a few fitness sensors placed on the bicycle, iSpinning is able to know info related to speed, cadence, and power.

Categorized as a fitness tracking application, the Spinning software is available to download for free, but only during a limited time so act fast.

While there are a handful of fitness apps for the iPhone, until now none of them have incorporated real-time user data in their calculations

    Incase%20HardCase.jpg

Incase, a leading provider of protective cases for Apple Products, has announced a slew of hard-case solutions catering for almost all of Apple Products.

Convenience seems to have been key while designing the hardcases for the MacBook and MacBook Pro, with easy access to all ports and controls via cutouts and rubber-feet elevation to circulate air and dispense heat better through the thermal vents at the bottom. These hardcases come in both 15 and 17 inches and are available in four tantalizing colors of translucent black, white, red, and plum, all frost touch-coated.

The slider case makes sure that the iPhone and iPod Touch are not left behind with internal rubber guards for ultimate scratch and impact protection and cutouts for effortless access to all controls. Also, the underside slides away making way for in-dock charging. You have a choice of black or white in high-gloss finish with a UV coating to give more resistance against scratches.

All of the above products will be available across North America starting February 2008. The hardshell cases for the Mac are priced at $49.95 while the slider cases from iPhone and iTouch are priced at $34.95.

The CES is a great place to showcase some of the world’s best technology and no company would leave out a chance to do that. Adding to the growing list of the products and companies showing off at CES 2008 is Lagotek, a company providing home automation, together with Ikanos, a UK-based software outfit specializing in Windows SideShow tech.

Lagotek is looking to present its “HIP Modes” Sideshow home control gadget, which endows Apple’s iPhone and iTouch the ability to run Windows Sideshow (via Ikanos’ Go Gadgets technology) and control homes remotely in the process. Go Gadgets is a new web application that allows a user to turn his iPhone and iTouch into a Sideshow-capable device. It also supports Windows Mobile/CE devices and allows remote access by WiFi, GPRS, EDGE, and 3G.

According to Lagotek, HIP Modes are macro states created by the user and upon selecting a specific Mode, the user can control a variety of household devices such as lights, temperature, AV devices, security systems, etc., all on an iPhone or iTouch over WiFi or GPRS/EDGE.
