BlackBerry owners will be happy to hear that RIM is interested to hire a “WebKit Developer.” That means the Canadian company is considering developing a totally new mobile browser. It’s actually not a secret anymore as RIM did purchase Torch Mobile a while ago, which happens to be the company that created the WebKit-based Iris browser. Apparently that’s not enough and RIM needs a more qualified WebKit developer to help out with the cause. A new browser for the BlackBerry OS will definitely be a blessing so if you happen to have the needed skills then go ahead and apply for the job! We’ve been waiting for a new mobile Internet browser for BlackBerry smartphones for too long now.

It was recently made known that the Motorla Evoke QA4 that was spotted on Motorola’s website last month has officially been made available through Cricket.
This little guy packed a 2.8 inch touchscreen keyboard which users can use to text message via an on-screen keyboard if they choose not to use the Evoke’s slide-out numerical pad. The home screen can be fully customized with widgets where users can do things like check up on RSS feeds or link to websites using the phone’s full HTML browser and 3G connectivity. Additionally the Evoke features a 2.0MP camera capable of capturing VGA video, Bluetooth functionality, voice activated dialing and a microSD slot for added storage.
The bad news? Motorola’s Evoke QA4 will run you $299.99. Still interested? Head over to www.mycricket.com for more information.

Alltell and LG are proud to announce the LG iX840 Tritan, a handset that might actually garner some interest in the not-so-popular carrier.
As you can see above, the LG Tritan features a sleep design along with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Couple this with the phone’s 3″ touch-screen, full internet browser and 3G connectivity, a 3MP camera with auto-focus and optical zoom and you have yourself a very very nice device.
Alltel says that they will offer the Tritan for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Any takers?

Thanks to the efforts of Internetsafety.com, parents can heave a sigh of relief when it comes to kids seeing objectionable content like pornographic stuff while browsing on mobile phones.
Safe Eyes(R) Mobile, the first Internet browser that helps parents protect their children from exposure to objectionable content on a mobile device, is now available for purchase through the iPhone App Store.
Safe Eyes Mobile works just like the built-in iPhone browser with pinch and tap zoom, bookmarks, built-in Google search and multiple pages, and has no noticeable effect on iPhone performance. The application carries an introductory price of just $19.99.
