If you remember correctly, when we started talking about Dell’s notebooks, the E Slim line, we had some leaked info according to which Dell was supposed to launch multiple notebooks of different sizes. We already have the Inspiron Mini 9 but that’s about it.
So what do we have in the picture here? It might just be the 12 inch Dell E Slim notebook we have been waiting for. We don’t have anything official yet but who knows what next week will bring. Besides the new Apples we might see new Dell showing up.

Dell has recently launched its netbook line. The Inspiron Mini 9 entered the market a little late, but I am confident it will catch the competition soon. And Dell went ahead and made its netbook available with Linux OS but with a twist. If you want to choose Ubuntu 8.04 as your default operating system then you will automatically choose the 8GB SSD model. If you want more memory, better get a card or an external hard drive.
The Mini 9 Linux version costs £269 or $472 while the Windows XP version costs £299 or $525.

Dell’s Studio 15 line of laptops will get 3G data cards. Sounds familiar? Sure it does since those Inspiron 9 babies have the same option.
Studio 15 laptops will feature an integrated EVDO card. Service will be available from either Verizon or Sprint. The card itself will cost $150 but a 2-year subscription from Verizon will get you a $125 off that price. That’s the price to pay if you want to get 3G broadband when you’re mobile. Or you could always tether a certain phone to a certain laptop…

We’ve been waiting for this Dell for quite a while now. It’s the future rival of the Eee and the Wind, but it’s not officially out yet. According to latest rumors the new release date for the Inspiron 910 is September 5th.
If that’s true, in less than three days the first Dell E-Mini comes out. The netbook will offer you a choice of RAM from 512MB to 1GB, a choice of SSD from 4 to 16GB and an WWAN option. According to leaked specs we also know Dell wants to sell it for $299 and we know it has ordered about a million of them. Will any of this get confirmed this Friday?

Are we getting new XPS laptops from Dell? Well it certainly looks that way. According to leaked images, the two new machines, the Studio XPS 13 and 16 are supposed to come out in November.
The new laptops are said to come with Intel Centrino 2 processors, with hybrid SLI support, slot-loading Blu-ray drives, edge-to-edge glass displays with LED backlight, WiMAX and UWB and backlit keyboards.
There aren’t any prices offered yet but we’re keeping an eye on them for you.

We’re still waiting for the official Dell Mini E announcement but all we get is rumors. The Eee-like PC is going to be called Dell Inspiron 910 but we’ve seen that already. Another rumor has surfaced in Taiwan. Apparently Dell has ordered about 1 Million Dell Mini Es which it plans to sell in the following months. Well Dell, enough already. Tell us when the E is coming, how much it costs and whether or not we’re going to have multiple models.
Back to waiting!

We’ve been waiting for a Dell E official release all week long but we’ve only seen the new Latitudes arrive. It’s still only Thursday so anything could happen.
In the mean time a new rumor has surfaced. The Dell E netbook will be code named Dell Inspiron 910. Furthermore, the E will include 3G options and it will miss a Fn key. The person that managed to squeeze all this info out of Dell wasn’t able to get any of the official pricing or availability date.
Let’s get back to waiting for the E then!

A Studio Inspiron will certainly be one of my next laptops to play with. For whatever reason, I have always followed Dell and their progress in the notebook world. Sure for the same price I could always get a similar HP and half a Mac, but Dell is one of my favorites.

Dell has finally registered MikeMingLaptops.com. Why finally? They have launched their new Inspiron customized laptops a while ago, but failed to registered a domain for it.
While I understand why Dell is trying to offer personalized notebook skins to their customers, I can’t understand why the need of a customized site which will lead to Dell’s home site. Are they going to get 40 more skin models from 20 artists and register a domain for each one?

After the Sony Blu-ray player won the format war, a lot of manufacturers have scrambled to include Blu-ray drives/players in their hardware lineup. The latest of these is Dell which incorporated a Blu-ray drive into one of their sub-$1000 laptop - the Inspiron 1525.
Consumers can still purchase an Inspiron 1525 with the basic specs, but now, they have an option to include a Blu-ray disc playback starting at $879.
The award-winning Inspiron 1525 laptop still features the same specs, particularly a 15.4-inch high definition wide aspect display, a 720p resolution, an HDMI port for easy connectivity to high resolution displays. Basically, the only upgrade at this time is the Blu-ray player disc drive which is fully backwards compatible.
The Blu-ray drive still functions like your old CD/DVD drive but with the capability to play Blu-ray format media. But that’s not all, consumers can also chose a Blu-ray burner drive, which is great for backing up and storing important files like digital photos, videos, financial records, etc. A Blu-ray disc will hold up to 50 GB of data, which is bigger than the 8.5 GB available on the typical DVD disc.
Dell Inspiron 1525 laptops with Blu-ray disc drives incorporate Broadcom Media PC technology that allows PCs with integrated graphics to play high definition video. The high-definition video playback is enabled through a built-in dedicated accelerator located in a mini-card slot.
