Consumer Cellular has announced the addition of two senior-friendly mobile phones with the inclusion of the Doro PhoneEasy 345 and 410. These new phones boast of enlarged, raised buttons and easy to read text, making it easier for the older folks to make calls or send text messages. They also come with loud and vibrating ringers, soft-touch surfaces and the usual Bluetooth interface. Here are the pricing for the said phones including activation fees from Consumer Cellular:

  • Doro PhoneEasy 345: $40 (plus $35 activation fee)

They are controversial and of course lavishing. Perhaps TOO lavishing thus making their app, the iPorn app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, has not yet been approved for inclusion at the iTunes store. But 5 iPorn girls aim to change all that as they pay a visit to Apple headquarters to try and convince the top Apple execs on the current state of their iPhone application.

At the moment the app can only be accessed via the iPorn website. While most iPhone and iPod Touch owners can always use Safari to access them, the effort is still different if it could be done via the Apple Store. Apple has been known to make controversial approvals on certain apps and it seems that will be the case once again. But this early, iPorn seems to be in high spirits as far as approval for their app is concerned. The approval of the iPorn iPhone app would be Apple’s first step in the right direction - NO MORE CENSORSHIP!

Check out the gallery of the iPorn Girls from their last visit.

For people who are familiar with the Archos 5, the expected released of the Archos A5S and A5H Internet tablet may be a familiar-looking device. And with rumors that it has gained FCC approval, it looks like the two new Internet tablets are bound to come out soon. It is said that these new devices will be officially announced on September 15.

Only a slight redesign which includes new locations for the speakers and headphone jacks headline the new Archos Internet tablets. Add to that the inclusion of a microSD slot, the Archos A5S and A5H include a ton of features that one would expect to get from mobile devices today. This includes:

  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi
  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • FM Transmitter and Receiver

The new Internet tablets do look promising. And from the looks of it, a lot of eager eyes are waiting to see the actual announcement from Archos next month.

One of the many features of iPhones and the iPod Touch is to accommodate video streams. And today, a church will become the first group to experiment on streaming their services via video. The New Hope church thus becomes the first non-profit group to feature such a service, something that is cheered on by many of New Hope’s church attendees.

“Typically, churches are years behind other organizations when it comes to technology and innovation. We have tried to reverse that trend and pioneer new ways to spread the Gospel using the most current tools available,” explains New Hope’s Technology and Innovations Director, Michael Sharpe. “We don’t mind the long hours and stress that comes with innovating because we know that if we can come up with something useful, it can be used by other churches around the world.”

All of this was made possible with the inclusion of HTTP live streaming in Apple’s iPhone 3.0 software. The streams will be available via their website starting July 4. The live stream requires an iPhone or iPod touch with the 3.0 software update and an active Internet connection.
