The smartphone we have all come to know as the Idou is now Sony Ericsson Satio. Yep, other than the name change, Sony Ericsson has now announced it as we knew it to be before with its awesome features. Here’s a quick look at what the Satio offers:
- 12.1 megapixel autofocus camera with Xenon flash, face detection, smile detection, geotagging, and 12x digital zoom
- 3.5-inch touchscreen display with true 16:9 quality
- Two versions supporting European GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSDPA 2100 networks and an AT&T version supporting GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 850/1900/2100 frequencies
- Symbian S60 5th Edition
- WiFi and Bluetooth
- aGPS with Google Maps
- FM radio
- Facebook and YouTube support
- MicroSD slot (8GB bundled)
- Music player with PlayNow, TrackID, and Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP) support
- 112 x 55 x 13.3 mm in size with a weight of 126 grams
The Sony Ericsson Satio will become available in the early fourth quarter of 2009 in Black, Silver, and Bordeaux colors. There is no news on a price yet, but if you want it, you better start saving now as it won’t come cheap.

25 May 09 Sony Ericsson Kokura, an Idou in CDMA Clothes?
The picture above shows a leaked Sony Ericsson. We don’t have all the details just yet but the handset above, codenamed the Kokura, is said to be the CDMA version of that famous 12-megapixel Idou handset. Will Verizon launch the Kokura? Is Sprint going to get it? Will you get the Kokura or the Idou soon? So many questions and so little time. We’ll be waiting for some sort of confirmation from the parties involved.

The Idou from Sony Ericsson might not be the must-have phone you were waiting for but we have a rumored date for it. The Idou should go on sale in October which means you will get plenty of time to adjust your budget for it. That impressive camera will definitely cost you an extra buck or two.
The phone will offer you a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 12 megapixel camera, GPS and probably more smartphone-like features. According to Sony Ericsson officials the phone will ship “sometime in the second half of the year” but nobody is confirming the October launch date.

12 Mar 09 Sony Ericsson Idou Gets a Stylus
Sony Ericsson’s Idou is a 12 megapixel camera phone which might make an impression once it arrives. The handset will be a great tool for both mobile entertainment and fast communication and it looks like Sony Ericsson has prepared a Stylus which seems destined to go with the handset. Sony Ericsson hasn’t made it clear if the stylus will be bundled with the Idou or if you will have to get it separately. But it’s good to know that we’ll have an alternative to our fingers to control this device.
