If you happen to own an Omnia i900 phone from Samsung then you might be one of those lucky fellows that can honestly say they have taken a peak at Samsung’s upcoming Application Store. Unfortunately you’d have to go the UK, Italy or France as that’s where the store has been made available so far.
The store offers so far about 300 paid apps and lots of free apps ready to be installed on your Samsung phones. By the end of the year Samsung will have around 2,000 apps in the store. It’s not too much, but it’s a healthy start. Besides the i900, the Omnia II I8000 and the Omnia LTE B7300 will also get support for accessing the new Application Store. Anyone excited about the new app store?

Verizon has recently announced that they have recently released the much sought after firmware update for the Samsung Omnia that will unlock the even more sought after GPS unlock.
The Omnia has been a decent contender in the smartphone market ever since its creation with its Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, 624MHz processor, 128MB RAM/256MB ROM, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 5MP camera but without GPS it was overshadowed by a lot of phones with it.
Now that the phone has had its GPS functionality enabled it can finally recieve the credit it deserves.

You think they could have thrown in a few diamonds and a bit of precious metal to go with the name, but all that this so-called Millionaire’s pack contains is the feature-packed Samsung Omnia, a WEP350 Bluetooth headset, a leather travel case, and an issue of Millionaire magazine with a chance to win a three-day trip to Moscow to attend the Millionaire’s Fair in November. And the price isn’t a million but just a measly €699 (approx. $1021), which isn’t that high from the actual price. Thanks but no thanks, we liked the deal that gets us a free Xbox 360 better!

While the Germany release will have to wait till next month, Samsung is all set to debut its latest flagship cell phone, the i900 or Omnia, in Italy. With its 3.2-inch haptic touchscreen, GPS, 5-megapixel camera, and other equally juicy features, the Omnia is certainly worth the 499 Euros it will command when released on July 22, but here’s something else that should bring more joy to the Italians. Starting July 14, any customer who cares to order the Samsung i900 through the Media World stores across Italy will also become a proud owner of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console, at no extra cost. Now, that’s a sweet deal wouldn’t you say? Customers will receive their gaming console along with the device when it starts shipping on July 22nd across the country. Samsung has planned a graduated release across the Europe and other markets within the end of next month.

Those guys over at Megawhat.tv had a chance to lay their grubby paws on Samsung’s newest touchscreen toy, the Omnia aka i900 and man is that a monster, and that goes for its size as well as its features. As we already told you, this sleek touchscreen device has a huge 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen display to see some of Samsung’s TouchWiz technology in full glory running on some WM 6.1 Pro sweetness and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash. It’s connections galore when it comes to Omnia with GSM 850/900/1800/1900 network support, HSDPA at 7.2Mbps, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and TV-out. The i900 will be available in two variations of 8 and 16GB but if that doesn’t suffice you, the microSD slot can fill that void for you. Ah, now that’s you’ll get when you combine a N95 and Xperia X1. The i900 will hit the stores this August, so not a long wait!
