For a device that’s supposed to be Samsung’s first Android-powered device, the i7500 Galaxy did take its own sweet time to reach the British Commonwealth, with some almost-there moments over the past few months. The handset is now available on O2 exclusively for the next four weeks, going free on a £45-per-month agreement and you could put down £244.67 and go with the cheapest O2 plan available. So, Her Majesty’s subjects will finally get to enjoy the Galaxy’s 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps speeds, its 5-megapixel camera, GPS receiver, and of course, Google’s Android!

Recent reports suggest that Samsung is preparing to launch their Android-powered Galaxy in the UK sometime next week.
News comes to us from O2 employees who say the Galaxy has appeared on their store’s stock management system stating the phone will arrive next week. There’s no official confirmation from Samsung or O2 that this is actually happening but if you have your eye on this device, hold off another week just to be sure.

Despite being rumored to release as early as June back in April, we now have concrete evidence that Samsung’s i7500 Galaxy will in fact be dropped in the UK this month.
The carrier in question will be O2 and for those who don’t know, the Galaxy is Samsung’s first Android powered handset. Futhermore, the handset will feature a full touch-screen, 5MP camera, 8GB of internal storage and a 3.5mm headset jack.
So Samsung, when will be seeing this thing drop Stateside?

For Samsung, it has always been about a good name that people tend to remember better than just a bunch of numbers. But this time, it’s the carrier who seems to be interested in a name than number for Samsung’s first Android device, the i7500. The i7500 is on its maiden voyage to France, with the carrier, Bouygues Telecom, announcing that July will be the lucky month, a few weeks later than the rumored June release date, and will be rechristened as the Samsung Galaxy for the French masses. We are not sure if Samsung will pick the same Galaxy tradename in other regions, but we have to admit, it does have a nice ring to it.

Samsung’s first Android phone, the i7500, has been approved by the FCC so we’ll be expecting it to arrive soon from T-Mobile. Unfortunately if we are to listen to recent rumors soon translates into at least four months of waiting since the phone will only be available in November. In the mean time you can try out other Android phones from T-Mobile.

Samsung has more phones to offer this year and it looks like it’s not willing to stop. And T-Mobile USA is going to get some of those new Samsungs for you. The Samsung Gravity 2 features dual keypads and it will be available in pink/red and orange/graphite. It will be available before Q4. The Sasmung T349 will arrive on May 20 and it will offer you 20 keys for all your messaging needs.
An unnamed touchscreen phone will offer a 3 megapixel camera and the already famous TouchWiz interface. The phone will also arrive in the fourth quarter. Another unknown Samsung handset will be featuring an extra external tiny screen and a 0-9 keypad and a larger internal display and a full QWERTY keyboard and a d-pad. Last but not least, the I7500, Samsung’s first Android device is coming to T-Mobile in November.

It started as a rumor and it got confirmed faster than we could have imagined. The Samsung I7500 we have shown you yesterday is the first Samsung Android phone. And we have some hands-on photos to delight our imagination with. We can get a general idea about size and shape and all we need now is clear launch dates. At this point the first question that comes to mind is what would you choose? HTC Magic or Samsung I7500?
