  • We’ve talked about that Hub a lot lately don’t you think? And Verizon has decided to make our lives easier and officially announce that landline phone. The phone is going to arrive on February 1st and it will cost $199 after a $50 mail-in-rebate with a $35 monthly fee. Verizon intends to have us use the Hub as a computer for casual info gathering. The phone will be connected to broadband Internet no matter if it’s from Verizon or not and it will let you manage it remotely. Now we need a specs sheet which Verizon failed to make available yet. After all we want to see what’s under that touchscreen, and what performance are we to expect from it!

The desktop phone will bring you a digital touch-friendly display, photo frame functionality, Internet connectivity and more. But do you really need such a complicated phone installed in your home? Would you use its extra features or would you just use it to make calls?

  • The Verizon Hub deskphone has mysteriously appeared on the official site but we still don’t know when it’s coming and how would one get it. From the looks of them it looks like Verizon will replace the regular home phone you might be used to with a smarter phone. Like any cell phone version it will show you pictures, notes, snippets, weather information, messages and maybe more. Internet connectivity, touchscreen display and stylus support are some of the features you’ll enjoy if you purchase one.

The Hub is supposed to be in stores already and it is waiting to be released. You will get it with a regular 2-year contract for just $29.99. Is it worth getting one or should we simply stick to cell phones?

The first-ever wireless gaming hub has been presented by PosiMotion with the codename “G-Fi VS”. The device works with WiFi 802.11 b/g, and has a range of 100 feet, close to 30 meters.

On top of being a hub made for gamers to be used on multiplayer mode, the G-FI VS is able to share media, file, and data, on devices that feature Wi-Fi. Thanks to being lightweight - 70 grams - and having small dimensions, it can truly be called a mobile gadget. The battery life can last 6 hours and gets recharged via mini-USB.

    Clayton Kane of PosiMotion, comments:

The G-Fi VS was designed by gamers, for gamers, to provide the uninterrupted and latency-free gaming experience that serious gamers demand.

Belkin Rockstar: Music in a Hub

When sharing music with friends, loudspeakers are of course, expected. But if for some reason you can’t use a speaker system, then Belkin Rockstar makes it easier for you to share music with your friends. The device could be called a hub which features five ports where you can attach your headphones and MP3 players and one port that’s hard-wired to your MP3 player. Meaning you can plug two or more players in and go crazy with the new remix. It seems like a fun idea, but with small speakers being available nowadays, we can’t predict the how the public would take the Belkin Rockstar.

Belkin Rockstar would be showcased on Macworld 2008 next week (yes, it’s iPod compatible) and will be available starting March for USD$19.99.
