Sure, the HTC Magic is a nice handset but I bet you never though it’d be used for this — A DIYer has taken HTC’s handset, coupled it with a pair of goggles and a cardbox box to make a pair of virtual reality goggles.
The system relys on Google Street View in the sense that you move your head around and the picture will adjust depending on the position of your head.
Still confused? Check out the above video demonstration and let us know what you think.

Despite being released in Canada only recently, Rogers Wireless has announced that they will be lowering the prices of both the HTC Dream and HTC Magic to $99.99.
Of course, you’ll have to opt for a 3-year contract before you get the lowered price but $99.99 for an Android phone? Count me in.
Hell, after seeing that a hacker got HTC’s Sense UI running on one of these phones makes the deal even more enticing.

The 8mpx and 12mpx cameraphones are slowly gaining steam, but that does not necessarily mean a 5-megapixel shooter is out of vogue. Couple that with that with the fact that T-Mobile wants to give their customers a little bit extra, and you have the Android-powered G2 (or the HTC Magic) rocking a 5-megapixel camera instead of the usual 3.2mpx lens that the other carriers offer. And it might be called just plain old T-Mobile G2, which is fine by us as long as we get what’s promised (and more in this case). A Walmart release in July seems probable at this moment with a price tag of $179 for a two-year agreement, but we have seen those dates change too many times before to start counting our chickens already.

Rogers Wireless is going all Android in Canada starting with this June. Well maybe not exactly all Android but the carrier is going to launch both the Dream and the Magic. June 2nd is the day you’ll have to remember to go to a Rogers store to pick up the HTC Dream and the Magic will arrive sometime later in June too. We don’t have all the launch details yet so we’ll be waiting for Rogers to offer us some prices soon.

Vodafone is finally taking pre-orders for the HTC Magic. The phone should arrive on May 5 and it will be free with a monthly plan. You will have to get a £30 or more plan in order to get the phone free of charge. What do you think? Are you impressed with the offer or is that monthly free to much for you? Unfortunatelly Vodafone doesn’t have any pre-order alternatives just yet but we’ll keep you updated. So what about those customers in other markets? When will they be able to pre-order this Android phone?

April 21 will bring us an important Bluetooth 3.0 announcement but that’s not the only thing we should be paying attention to. T-Mobile has also scheduled an event of its own on the very same date. Will we see the second Android smartphone officially emerge? We’ve seen the weird names T-Mobile has been testing for the HTC Magic and on April 21 we might find out more about all that. But what if the Magic is not what T-Mobile is announcing? Unfortunately the event isn’t public bur rather private. New York is where you should be if you to attend it. We’ll give you all the hot information once we know more ourselves.

From what we know so far, the HTC Magic is the G2 and Huawei Android phone will be the G3 when it comes to T-Mobile USA Android phones. But is it really so? Check out the pictures for yourself!
It seems that the G2 will be in fact the G3 or the myTouch 3G with Google or the Genius 3G with Google or the Prism 3G with Google. So what’s the matter with the G2? What phone will get the G2 moniker? And what about that Huawei device? Will it be the G4 or how does it all works? Does anyone from T-Mobile care to explain?

Don’t worry folks, Yahoo is not making any new phone just yet. They’ve tried and they’ve failed so far. And Vodafone is still going to launch the HTC Magic which will still run on Google’s Android.
We’re just talking about search engines for mobile devices. Google is the current search engine on mobile phones sold by Vodafone but the agreement is going to expire. And Vodafone might sign with the other important search engine out there, Yahoo.
Yahoo has obtained important contracts with T-Mobile and O2. Should they get Vodafone too, Yahoo will be in a position where it would provide search results to a lot of European customers.
But what do you think? What’s your favorite search engine for your mobile phone?
