Boingo Wireless makes it easier to get connected to the web with the launch of its WiFi Hot Spot Finder and Connection Manager for Android. If there is one thing that becomes a problem for people when outdoors is that of finding the right spot to get a decent signal for their devices. And now, Android get a big boost as far as being supported by WiFi carriers such as Boingo.

Boingo Mobile is currently available for all Android smartphones that includes models which are running on Android 1.5. With the open platform on Android, Boingo is able to produce a very user-friendly and easy-to-use Wi-Fi experience for the Android platform.

Most Android smartphones include Wi-Fi, which the Boingo application enhances by providing a convenient, automated way to connect. The application automatically notifies users when they are in a Boingo hotspot without needing to open the application, and connects to the Boingo network with one-click. When in a hotspot, the Boingo application will appear in the notification bar, and depending on phone settings, will either vibrate or play a sound.

The Boingo app can be downloaded at their site.

  • The gadget above is the new Novatel MiFi 2200 personal hotspot which should be released by Verizon Wireless soon. The device isn’t bigger than a credit card and it will offer you about four hours of EVDO connectivity on each charge. You will be able to connect your laptops and cell phones to it and surf the Internet while on the go. Is there a data cap? How much will Verizon charge per month for the service? We don’t have all the hot details so far but the MiFi router should sell for $200 when Verizon decides to release it.
