What do you say folks, are you ready for some Touch Revolution? That’s actually the name of a company whose CEO is former Apple employee Mark Hamblin. The guy says that he has worked on the iPhone and iPod touch and he’s ready to offer lots of touchscreen Android devices coming from his new company, Touch Revolution.

You can expect three categories of new Android gadgets: home control gadgets meant to help you manage lights, security and ventilation, media control gadgets meant to let you control TVs, stereos and DVR programming and home-based smartphones.

We’re more curious about what smartphones Touch Revolution will launch but there aren’t that many details available just yet. It’s said that the first devices will be available later this year. The modues can be hand-held, placed on a tabletop and embedded into walls.

Touch Revolution is apparently officially endorsed by MC Hammer so we’d definitely want to see what products will the company launch this year.

How would you like to have a smarter Nokia smartphone? How would you like to manage your home appliances, your electronics, your entertainment and security from your mobile phone?

Nokia’s Home Control Center will let you do exactly that. We don’t have specific details about how the whole Control Center will work but it will use a Linux-based platform which works on most current smart home technologies. You will be able to access your gadgets from anywhere with the remote access capability. You will be using WiFi, GSM, GRPS and Z-Wave wireless to command your whole house.

It seems that Nokia has something here which might grow into quite a popular thing. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we receive more detailed info on the Home Control Center.

The CES is a great place to showcase some of the world’s best technology and no company would leave out a chance to do that. Adding to the growing list of the products and companies showing off at CES 2008 is Lagotek, a company providing home automation, together with Ikanos, a UK-based software outfit specializing in Windows SideShow tech.

Lagotek is looking to present its “HIP Modes” Sideshow home control gadget, which endows Apple’s iPhone and iTouch the ability to run Windows Sideshow (via Ikanos’ Go Gadgets technology) and control homes remotely in the process. Go Gadgets is a new web application that allows a user to turn his iPhone and iTouch into a Sideshow-capable device. It also supports Windows Mobile/CE devices and allows remote access by WiFi, GPRS, EDGE, and 3G.

According to Lagotek, HIP Modes are macro states created by the user and upon selecting a specific Mode, the user can control a variety of household devices such as lights, temperature, AV devices, security systems, etc., all on an iPhone or iTouch over WiFi or GPRS/EDGE.
