All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

Want to remember the King of Pop every time you pull out your handset? Well then you should check out the ridiculously flashy limited edition Michael Jackson handset featured above.

We don’t have very many details as to what this phone is or the specs but we do know that it looks a little too much like one of Vertu’s handsets.

No idea if this will ever make it out of China but we have a hunch it won’t.

    RotariPhone iPod Dock

Let us go a bit retro, recalling the ancient time of rotary dialed phones. Apparently these old phones now have another use, modified to accommodate iPods and hence come up with the RotariPhone iPod Dock. The iPod is docked on where the handset is usually placed. Tilt it upwards and then place you iPod or iPhone and then play the tunes you want to hear. The speakers are the hearing and mouth piece, an ingenious design that should put some difference on the iPod docks available in the market today.

  • After securing the rights of exclusively distributing solar powered mobile handsets from ZTE, Uganda Telecoms is now the sole distributor of the said ZTE solar powered phones which commenced in Arua. Arua is a region that has limited access due to the national security grid hence making the solar powered mobile phones a viable alternative for mobile communication without worrying about power issues.

To date, Ugandan natives have to walk long distances just to charge their handsets. With the introduction of these ZTE solar powered mobile phones, all that will be a thing of the past. All they have to do now is make sure that they position their phones under direct sunlight to enjoy continuous mobile communication.

The solar handset is manufactured from recycled materials and has a built-in solar panel, which generates enough energy from an hour of exposure to the sun to keep the phone going for 12 hours.

    Color Rings Bluetooth

Everyone knows the hand signs to tell someone to call or make a call. We even see this used in sci-fi movies to make it look like they are actually making a call with no handset or device in hand. But now it seems we may see a lot of people flashing the same hand signals with two glowing rings on their thumb and the other on the pinky finger and are actually talking to someone.

The Color Rings are the latest Bluetooth headset concept which anyone would mistake for a new trend of fashion being worn today. Presumably, the ring worn on the pinky is the one that has the mic and the other on the thumb is the earphone. A built-in distance sensor notifies you when you are about to make or receive calls whenever you place your hand to your head. Quite neat and something that negates the usual looking techie carrying out all those peripherals that make you look like a geek from outer space!
