Yes, there are a lot of MP3 Players out on the market, and yes, it is odd that the ones that get the most press start with the little “i”. I think we all know that there are a lot of MP3 Players out there that are just as good, maybe even better, and are lower in price.

Like the Haier America Video MP3 Player, for instance, which is just as good as the iPod Nano, really. The 4GB version costs about $45, and the 8GB costs $55.

Haier is probably not your favorite cell phone manufacturer but it could very well become one. The company has Android plans apparently and its first Android phone will be probably launched in September. Called the H7, this new handset is expected in France at least. The phone has been displayed at CommunicAsia 2009 and it will pack a 2.8-inch touchscreen, a 2-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and Android 2.0 in the background. The phone will sell for $150 with a contract but we don’t have all the details just yet.

Haier came boldly at the MWC with various MIDs named “NetBooks”, a mini-laptop and not one but two Android phones. We’ve seen plenty of MIDs and netbooks so far so we’d be more interested in the Android phones. Weirdly enough the two devices are called the G1 and the G2 but we have no official specs so far. The phones do exist but there’s no telling when they’ll hit the market. One thing is clear though, Android will only grow this year as everyone is getting in on the action. We’ve seen future Android phones announced before and during the MWC, so all we have to do is sit and wait.

A new improved version of the Haier S20-T7500 has been released in the Korean market. The notebook weighs 1.8 Kg and uses Windows Vista Home Basic as its default operating system. It boasts Intel Core 2 Duo T7500-2.2GHz processor and a built-in 1.3-megapixel camera.

Haier Korea has just launched its latest notebook, the 12.1-inch S20, in the Korea market. Priced at approximately 900,000(KRW), the notebook is built on top Intel’s Santa Rosa platform, offering powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor (2.0GHz T7300 CPU).

Furthermore, the S20 sports an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, perfect for those professionals always on the move. It weighs at around 1.8kg and as seen on the picture, comes in with a high-glossy and stylish finish.

Haier America announced the new ibiza Rhapsody Wi-Fi portable media player which allows consumers to access the Rhapsody digital music service, along with AOL Video and other content using an available Wi-Fi hotspot. With literally millions of songs available for Rhapsody users, the ibiza Rhapsody could be a neat travel add-on. There’s also a partnership with AOL Video, where you get free access to user-generated videos. Not quite live TV, but on-demand entertainment nonetheless.

Currently, the ibiza Rhapsody is available in a 30GB model. Apart from video playback, it includes an FM radio tuner. Featuring a 2.5 inch QVGA LCD display, the device is compatible with 802.11 b/g wireless networks and supports WEP/WPA for security. For syncing data, the PMP offers a USB 2.0 mini-B connector - and this doubles up as a charging connector.

Apart from the 30GB model, Haier will soon unveil 4/8GB flash memory models, and the players will be available through Amazon. Expect them this holiday season. The 30GB model also boasts stereo Bluetooth compatibility, so you can use your existing wireless headphones with it.

The Haier G71 is not your usual laptop. It is packed with a glossy blue body that makes it stand out from the market of black laptops and white macs. Haier Computer presented its 17.1-inch notebook pc ‘G71’ in Beijing, which attempts to replace the desktop pc. The G71 adopts Intel’s Centrino Santa Rosa platform and Nvidia GeForce Go 7950, and supports 1920 x 1200 resolution. It features a large 17.1-inch wide screen (16:10) display that makes it perfect for gaming sessions, film viewing, and other online activities.

If you are tired of the same old black, silver, or white laptops, then the Haier ultra glossy, ultra bold blue might be the way to go. As of the moment, no word has been said on the pricing and the availability of this laptop.

Haier is a producer of household appliances (”white goods”), including air conditioners, laptops, refrigerators, etc. Its headquarters are in Qingdao, Shandong, China. They are now the third largest white goods manufacturer in the world. Haier Group reported sales of over $12 billion across all divisions in 2005.
