RIM’s BlackBerry Onyx has yet to settle down on a carrier but it seems that someone has gotten their hands on some pre-release devices and decided to throw them on eBay. The starting bid is currently at just $1 but the seller says you can buy the phone now for $1,299.99.

Sure, the phone is unlocked and has GPS, WiFi, a QWERTY keyboard, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA but is anyone actually going to pay over $1,200 for this? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Nokia Mystery 3G Phone Gets FCC Approval

Nokia Mystery 3G Phone Gets FCC Approval

A new Nokia cell phone was approved recently by the almighty FCC. While no details were made available (Nokia had requested short term confidentiality), it appears to be a Nokia 661X series device - at least from the FCC label anyway.

The only information available as of this writing is that it is a GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz quad-band phone that also supports WCDMA, and is compatible with EGPRS and GPRS. Bluetooth is also available on the phone. The phone also supports a micro-USB data cable for data sync.

As usual, no word on the pricing or availability of this phone, but thanks to the FCC seal, it should be on its way soon.
