Currently, Google Sync is only able to keep your Calender and Contacts updated, effectively leaving Gmail in the dark. Luckily, it was recently announced that the service will now allow for Gmail syncing as well, if you have an iPhone or Windows Mobile handset, that is.

While the BlackBerry email client is widely regarded as one of the best on the market, the support for Gmail has been nothing more than lackluster thus far.

Today, however, the Gmail Plug-in for BlackBerry has gotten updated and will include features like syncing from your device to your computer (but not vice versa) along with archived mail and managing labels.

Google Apps leaves beta stage

While it probably doesn’t mean the applications are going to get any breakthrough features right off the bat, Google has announced that their entire suite of Google Apps have left the beta stage. But what does this actually mean?

Well, nothing. Google explains their decision to remove the beta tage came along when they realized that some bussinesses were hesistant to make the switch due to the perceived notion that the Apps weren’t ready for “prime time”.

Furthermore, Google vows to continue to innovate and improve on their entire suite of online applications (including Gmail) despite them no longer being in beta form.

Writing emails from your Gmail account will be a lot easier for BlackBerry owners. It looks like there’s a new plug-in in the works, one that lets you access more features of Gmail. And here are some of those rumored additions:

  • See your Gmail based emails in Conversation View for simple topic management
  • Add and remove labels and stars to emails to keep inbox organized
  • Archive and report as spam actions for mailbox management on the go
  • Search your entire Gmail inbox

The plug-in is currently in beta testing so we’ll all have to wait for its public release.

We have just told you how Google has improved its mobile Gmail for iPhone and Android phones and we have more good news for you. It looks like Google has also upgraded iGoogle for the same mobile platforms. The new version is currently in beta and it will bring you tabs support and various gadgets:

One of our favourite new features is the in-line display of articles for feed-based gadgets. That means you can read article summaries without leaving the page. You can also rearrange gadget order or keep your favourite gadgets open for your next visit.

  • Gmail is a great email solution for both your computer and your mobile phone, but I guess you already knew that. And Gmail Mobile has just been upgraded! Google added two important features: address auto-complete and keyboard shortcuts which will help you send emails even faster. The upgrade is available for iPhone OS 2.2.1 or higher and Android phones at this time and only U.S. English is currently supported. Hopefully Google will add these features for other mobile operating systems but in the mean time if you have an iPhone/iPod touch or Android-based device, you’ll be able to enjoy the new Gmail Mobile version.

Google has updated its Gmail and Calendar applications for iPhones and Android devices. The new Gmail will bring you HTML5 and Gears which means you will be able to read your emails faster than you used to. Another significant improvement is the fact that the new Gmail app will let you write messages and open recently-read emails even when there hardly a connection available. A new look will also surprise you and there’s a new floaty bar which will let you archive and delete messages.

The Calendar has also been updated which means that now you will be able to edit your web-based calendar straight from your handset. The new Gmail and Calendar will be available for the iPhone and the iPod touch OS 2.2.1 or above and all Android phones.

    T-Mobile G1 Already Unlocked?

While the iPhone 3G hasn’t been unlocked yet, the G1 has. The G1 managed to survive for only a week and what a week it was. Now the open-source Android phone is open-carrier too. All you need is $22.99 and a G1 to work on.

The unlocked G1s have been reported to work in other networks but not everything is going as smooth as you might have suspected. Calls and SMS messages go through without any problems but logging to Gmail isn’t possible. That also means there’s no Android Market either. What do you think? Will you unlock yours? Watch the video above for more details!

  • Did you get your T-Mobile G1 yet? Does it do POP3/IMAP email? People say it wouldn’t so I am just checking since I can’t be testing it hands on. People are talking about it on T-Mobile’s forum and it looks like they are reporting up to 95% connection errors when trying to check their email on the G1. Gmail is working fine apparently but others don’t.

T-Mobile is going to fix whatever problem has occurred, I am sure. After all checking emails while on the go is one of the reasons people buy smartphones in the first place! Tell us how G1 emailing works for you!

Continuing on with the endless fascination for iPhone from Google, the search engine giant has now added support for 17 more languages for its Gmail page when viewed on Apple’s best-selling device. These include Chinese (Simplified or Traditional), Danish, Dutch, UK English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil or Portugal), Russian, Spanish, and Swedish, which are already available on the desktop version. Users will just have to just have to change the “Gmail display language” under Settings when logged into Google and they are good to go. Along with this, there are many other improvements including address autocomplete, faster loadtimes, and mail prefetching all packed into a smoother user interface. We are waiting what you have lined up next for the iPhone, Google, Android perhaps?
