The full version of this popular game from Konami is now available at the Apple app store. Metal Gear Solid Touch, takes players through five chapters told in 20 stages featuring Old Snake and a few enemies that any Metal Gear fan would be familiar with. Characters appearing in the latter eight stages of the game will have new abilities. The game tests players’ strategic insight with enemies like the dreaded Gekko and gameplay mechanisms such as controlling the Metal Gear REX.

The game will make use of the iPod Touch and iPhone’s touch features, also utilizing the iPhone’s shake capabilities to launch attacks during the Mantis Boss Battle. After a player has completed all 20 stages, a Survival Mode will be unlocked. This mode challenges players to complete the stages one after the other without their life being replenished at the start of a new stage.

iPhone and iPod Touch users who already have the initial version installed on their devices will receive this update for free, while a sort of demo of the game called the Metal Gear Solid Touch Lite, will soon be made available for free so that fans can get a taste of the game. Those who don’t have the game can download it from the Apple App Store.
