The Summer is not only about going to the beaches and taking a break from it all. Well, as far as Glu Mobile is concerned there is no vacation and the setting is perfect for the release of new games for the Summer season. Among the notable games that will be available this summer for various smartphones and platforms include the following:

  • Stranded: Mysteries of Time - As a genetic scientist working on an uncharted island, players are pulled into a time-traveling adventure, unraveling the mystery of a viral outbreak. As the story unfolds, players attempt to fix the future by using DNA gathered from a prehistoric age to create a cure. (Available beginning July 2009)
  • 99 Ninjas - Players fight with the fastest ninja and set off on a thrilling quest of vengeance in the funniest action game ever made for mobile! Using amazing ninja abilities and skills, players must face the ultimate opponent, the evil Shan-Pu. Players use weapons including a sword, shuriken, grappling hook and even ninja magic to eliminate enemies to become the last of the 99 ninjas. (Available beginning July 2009)
  • Vegas Hustler - In this intriguing adventure, players will outsmart shady characters, fall in love (or maybe just lust), and become a wealthy high roller…at least that’s the plan. To make it in Sin City, bankroll and reputation are everything, so making big moves in blackjack, roulette, and craps is essential. (Available beginning July 2009)
  • Firefighters: City Rescue - Players control their crews via the strategy map then run into the buildings to take on the fires themselves. Throughout the game, players much climb up floors of burning buildings, extinguishing fires while saving people trapped inside. Different buildings present different challenges and the arsonists always stick around to make things difficult. (Available beginning August 2009)

“We can’t wait for mobile games fans to get their hands on our summer lineup which features all-new and exciting original IP titles,” said Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu. “All of the games include action-packed fun, with loads of playing time, providing hours of entertainment perfect for summer travel.”

From the looks of the Summer lineup of game apps that Glu Mobile will be releasing, mobile phone users will be busy playing and focusing their attention on their phones this Summer. Besides, most people bring their phones with them so expect these games to put boredom on the side for the Summer of 2009.
