All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

When it comes to identifying mobile phones, rarely would people remember the actual model or series that is tied up to it. Some people would just remember them by terms such as its brand or perhaps distinctive features like “a camera phone” or “quad band”. Now, it looks like Nokia will change all that to put meaning towards proper identification of their phones, something which has severely been overlooked lately.

So what should be done? For Nokia, it all starts from naming them prior to releasing their phones. And this new handset naming scheme will officially be announced at the Nokia World Conference which should put some order and reason as to why handset names are important to this day.

The naming scheme will involve every phone under the Nokia brand. This announcement will coincide with the release of the new devices, the new X, C and S Series. This early, the series of phones will have features that will easily identify them to a certain series.

For example, all E Series would sport a decent messaging client, wi-fi and other important business functionalities that a business user would not want to miss.

This and a lot more are going to be revealed at the Nokia World Conference so don’t miss it!

  • People who have the Palm Pre will be glad to note that they can now be able to take control of their travel plans thanks to this new app called FlightView. FlightView allows users to take note of their flight scheduled and avoid the rush or delays when it comes to actual flight departures.

This app should be a big help for people on the go and who hate being made to wait in cases of delays due to unseen circumstances. And if you think that is enough, wait until you check out other functionalities that include:

    • Flight status alerts give travelers immediate notification of changes to the flight – status changes, delays or cancellations. The FlightView app uses Pre notifications to update the user of status changes or delays - whether it is opened or closed - giving users the information they need to act on.
    • Interoperability with Pre’s calendar gives travelers a visual look at travel plans while guarding against double-booking appointments – flight details are viewable while the calendar shows the schedule from departure to arrival.
    • A notes field for managing all aspects of a trip, such as rental car, hotel and other reservations. Phone numbers, reservations numbers and locations are all in one easy-to-read location.

The FlightView app is available via Pre’s on-device beta App Catalog.
