The tiny screen in the picture is the extra screen you’re going to find mounted on the Fujitsu LifeBook N7010. The laptop was announced today and it’s going to be available starting with November 10 for just $1,499. One of the recent Fujitsu upgrades made to their Lifebook series of notebooks was the A6220 - a good but expensive computer. The other upgrade is a new Lifebook P8020, that continues with the high prices which in this case go up to $1,800. Is Fujitsu trying to compete with Apple in the price department? It surely looks like it.
OK, so maybe being ultraportable makes a laptop a bit more expensive, and the inclusion of a multitouch trackpad with zoom in/out functions (and others) also costs some money.
Anyhow, inside the new Fujitsu LifeBook P8020 that will be released in November, you’ll find the following items:
- Intel Core 2 Duo 1.4GHz processor

- 2GB RAM
- 120GB hard drive
- DVD burner (more…)

We have four of the Japan’s finest companies that decided to play together in order to create a SH-Mobile G4 single-chip LSI device. Wow, that’s so cool, I will want two or three of those!
Seriously speaking, NTT DoCoMo, Renesas, Fujitsu and Sharp are working on a handset which will have GSM/GPRS/EDGE support and HSUPA/HSDPA/W-CDMA standards. The Japanese companies are getting ready a cell phone that’s going to offer HSUPA speeds of up to 5.7Mbps and HSDPA speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. The devices will come with 45-nm processors, 3D graphics support, HD support and more. The SH-Mobile G4 will arrive in 2010, which is a long long time from now. Maybe too long!

The phone in the picture above is a concept phone shown by DoCoMo and Fujitsu at CEATEC in Japan this year. This splitting cell phone look interesting. I can help but wonder how fast I’d destroy it. I tend to play with cell phones, especially sliders and flip phones to the point where certain parts might fly off.
As you can see there’s a screen and a keyboard segment. The two pieces are connected with magnets and they communicate which each other via Bluetooth. There’s no name for this splitting device as it’s just a concept for now. We’re waiting to see if Fujitsu and DoCoMo will actually send it to massive production. It would be interesting to see what features it will sport.

Fujitsu has made a (kind of) official announcement today by presenting the upcoming ST6012 Tablet PC on their website. Unlike other tablets of the same kind, the ST6012 doesn’t have a keyboard or any other keys, and that is one of the points that makes it stylish.
The Tablet PC is included on the Stylistic ST Series, and boasts a good processor – 1.40GHz Intel Core 2 Duo – along with a good touchscreen display measuring 12.1-inches and providing a 1920×1200 resolution. To make it even better, you have the option to put 3G. There is no exact information about the RAM memory, but rumors mention the basic 1GB, and a maximum of 4GB.

NTT DoCoMo is getting ready for its next-generation 4G network and in the process it has chosen Fujitsu to help. NTT DoCoMo will use the Evolved Packet Core from Fujitsu. Fujitsu will also supply the wireless base stations and handsets for the future LTE network in Japan. Nokia will provide hardware and software to be used with Fujitsu’s technology.
Does anyone know when the new LTE network will be finishing? Any official testing to take place soon? Any LTE capable devices to be created soon? Is Nokia going to provide them first? Too many questions will be left unanswered for now.

Fujitsu U820 or the U2010 received the FCC okay about two months ago. Despite that the new UMPC wasn’t available for U.S. customers yet.
It looks like all that is going to change. The PC showed up in the support section of Fujitsu’s American site. The U820 appears in the drop-down selection list already and there seems to be a BIOS update from July 31st for it. (more…)

Fujitsu seems ready to launch the Lifebook M1010 netbook. We were expecting Fujitsu to start having impure netbook thoughts sooner or later. This netbook will also be a tablet which is a bold move from Fujitsu. I’m actually interested in an Eee that has a touchscreen too. There’s no pricing or release dates yet only some specs. (more…)

Fujitsu’s Lifebook U2010 is a netbook, or a mini-netbook. It’s smaller than small with it’s 5.6 inch display. The U2010 mini-laptop/tablet will offer you power and portability. It has an Atom processor running either at 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz, a 5.6 inch display with resolution up to 1024×768, 1GB RAM, an 80GB hard drive, 3G radio, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth. It weighs about 1.5 pounds and it will retail for $1,300. It’s quite a lot but like I said, it offers power and portability which can’t come cheap.

Fujitsu has just announced what they claim to be the highest capacity 2.5 inch external HandyDrive. This new storage solution will offer you 500GB of space. And since we’re still living in a mobile world, this hard drive could be the perfect solution for your travels.
This HandyDrive isn’t just a “stupid” drive. It comes with a new passoword lock tool option which will surely secure your classified data. As for power consumption this external drive is said to reduce it by 35% in standby mode. If you need data transfer speeds, the HandyDrive has a maximum of 60MB per second and it comes with an 8MB read/write buffer.
The HandyDrive weighs only 220 grams, and in case you drop it, its internal shock endurance mechanism might save its life. That means your HandyDrive is secure no matter what happens to it. If stolen the password tool will keep your files secure. If dropped, the shock absorber can save it.
You can choose between various capacities. From 160GB to 500GB. The 500GB 2.5 inch HandyDrive from Fujitsu will be available in July for about $364.

Fujitsu isn’t happy with Intel playing more and more with the WiMAX module market and it’s ready for action. Fujitsu Microelectronics, which basically is a supplier of semiconductor products including WiMAX has partnered up with other Taiwanese PC and mobile peripherals makers. Their ultimate goal is to include WiMAX modules in various mobile devices in the near future. That’s good news for all laptop and smartphone owners looking that missing WiMAX built-in module in their life.

Fujitsu LifeBook U810 and Fujitsu T2010 Tablet PC have been revealed since January at CES 2008. What we didn’t know yet were their prices.
The two tablet PCs have both the built in HSDPA modem for better, faster connectivity. 3G access will be provided, and there’s no surprise here, by AT&T with download speeds from 600 to 1400kbps and upload speeds from 500 to 800 kbps.
But let’s look at the prices! The U810 model has an 800Mhz processor topped by 1GB of DDR2 RAM. It has both Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity options, an USB port, VGA out and Ethernet slots. The U810 runs either Windows Vista or XP and has a 5.6 inch touch screen LCD and a 40 GB hard drive. Battery life is up to 5.5 hours which is a good thing to keep in mind. If you choose this one you will have to pay $999 for it and add an extra $200 for the HSDPA modem.
The T2010 has a 12.1 inch WXGA indoor/outdoor LED. The processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo 7600 with ultra low voltage. Battery life is said to be up to 11 hours which is remarkable. I would choose this tablet PC (with a Windows XP) if I needed one badly. This model’s price starts at $1,499 but then you add the extra $200 for the modem.
Remember the ModBook? How would you like a Fujitsu real tablet PC instead?
