Photobucket is familiar to us as an online host for standalone photos and as a video sharing site. The problem is, to be able to upload such files, PC access via the Internet is needed. However today, a new interface that allows T-Mobile phone owners to upload their photos has been announced.
Photobucket announced the availability of an innovative mobile photo service exclusively for T-Mobile that enables users to send photos directly from mobile handsets to several destinations: a Photobucket album, a PC hard drive, or an email address.
To utilize the application, T-Mobile subscribers can download the application for a free 21-day trial to select handsets, including Blackberry Curve, Blackberry Pearl and three Windows Mobile devices. T-Mobile subscribers that do not currently have a Photobucket account can create one for free at http://photobucket.com, and then link their T-Mobile phone to their Photobucket online photo album via the new service.
Once the mobile uploader software has been downloaded, the application allows users to choose where photos taken from their mobile phones should be automatically uploaded to: a Photobucket album, their PC’s hard drive or directly to an email address.
The Photobucket Mobile Uploader for T-Mobile is available initially on five select handsets in both free and premium versions. Following the 21-day trial, users can continue using the free version or purchase the full software for a special holiday one-time purchase price of $19.99.
The expired trial version allows users to upload only to Photobucket, while the premium version gives users access to Photobucket, as well as the ability to send photos to their home PC or to any email address.
