Samsung may have been thinking of a reliable rugged phone worthy for military use and it looks like the Samsung SGH-A657 is the perfect fit. However, if you are expecting to get some attention as far as features and overall appearance concerned, you can just forget it!

As far as features go, it’s the mobile equivalent of a Kia Spectra wrapped up in a tank’s body. It’s got Bluetooth 2.0, Stereo Bluetooth, AT&T Navigator and Mobile music, Push to Talk, EDGE and HSDPA, microSD expansion, and all the basics you would expect from any phone.

The Samsung SGH-A657 was specially made for meeting military specifications for dust, shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures. As a bonus, it has a flashlight, just in case you drop the keys of your military vehicle along the way.

    Super Battery Hand-Cranked Charger

With all the talk about how we should wisen up when it comes to turning to proper charging for our batteries for use in gadgets, alternative manual chargers for mobile phones and MP3 players are being introduced one by one.

The latest manual charger that does not make use of electricity is the Super Battery which can be charged by cranking it up.

Any hand crank device always takes a little while, if you crank it for two minutes, that will give you six minutes of talk time on your phone. If you charge the battery up completely by plugging it in, it’ll give you four hours of talk time on your phone or five hours on your iPod.

If you’re in an emergency type situation, I’m sure you’ll appreciate the built-in flashlight as well. It also has a twin cable, which will allows you to charge two more devices overnight.

The SATY MP3 Player with Breath Analyzer maybe a weird looking concept gadget but for people who want to pair personal audio entertainment along with some bonuses, this is a device worth checking out. The exterior design leaves a lot for potential improvement though.

This multi-featured device is a great gadget to consider. It is a handy device that you can take anywhere and among their other features include that of:

    1. Flashlight
    2. Radio
    3. Mosquito Repeller

The only thing missing is perhaps the kitchen sink. But then again that would be something that can be integrated in the future when and if someone does consider it.
