We all know how Steve Jobs decided to take a break from daily Apple chores, but he is still the acting CEO and he is still involved in important and very secret Apple projects.

According to rumors, despite the fact that Steve jobs is working from his him, he is involved in key features like new interface elements in iPhone 3.0 and an “iTablet” or a bigger iPod touch. Apple doesn’t have an official position yet so we’ll have to keep waiting just a few more months for relevant keynotes. Will Steve Jobs give any keynotes himself this year?

Don’t say you were not warned about the new iPhone rumors. As we get closer to June more things related to the new handset will emerge. Right now we hear that the new iPhone will have support for 802.11n wireless connections. It looks like the OS 3.0 beta firmware includes support for low-powered 802.11n chip for the third-generation iPod touch which should automatically mean that the new iPhone version will also get it. Hopefully the battery will be also upgraded in order to deal with all those new features. On the other hand, if this is just a rumor, we won’t need that great a battery, will we?

Hold on to your hats Apple fans, we don’t have any pictures yet. According to the rumors out there, proof of future iPhones and iPod touch players has been leaked. Someone found evidence of Apple’s upcoming hardware revisions inside the iPhone OS 3.0 restore ramdisk.

Here’s a list of current devices:

• iPhone First Gen - 0×1290
• iPod touch 1G - 0×1291
• iPhone 3G - 0×1292
• iPod touch 2G - 0×1293

And here’s what was found in the ramdisk:

• iPhone2,1 - 0×1294
• iProd0,1 - 0×1295
• iPod2,2 - 0×1296
• iPhone3,1 - 0×1297
• iFPGA - 0×1298
• iPod3,1 - 0×1299

Looks like June will bring us quite a few Apple products.

Apple will roll a major firmware update for the iPhone. Version 3.0 is coming and Apple is going to host a special event for it on March 17. Besides version 3.0, an updated SDK will also be shown. No future features have been leaked yet but we heard MMS and tethering via Bluetooth and USB are included in this firmware update. We’ll know more in less than a week so hang on to your shorts. I wonder if copy paste is finally coming.
