Is this the HTC Firestone?

Take this with a grain of salt, but according to one anonymous tipster who sent the above image to wmpoweruser, this is the Firestone or at least a close approximation of the Firestone, that mysterious smartphone rumored to sit on top of the HTC mountain very soon.  The leaked line-up pic was somewhat in line with the above design, complete with the silver-meshed bottom-corner speaker, but seeing that the last “real” picture of the Firestone was pretty accurate too, a spoonful of skepticism wouldn’t go amiss here.  But if the real deal is anything like the above rendering with those great specs we have been hearing about so much, HTC would have made the perfect replacement for the Touch HD.  What do you guys think?

  • After you’ve seen the Sense UI in action you should also know that HTC has a new TouchFlo version coming up. The TouchFlo 3D 2.5 also known as the Manila will apparently be available on the Firestone in the near future.

Manila comes with new features like a new home screen with support for Footprints and up to nine apps shortcuts. There’s also faster access to calendar and alarm access. A new settings screen will let you customize the phone without getting you the feeling that you’re still handling a Windows Mobile device.

With these in mind we’ll be waiting for the HTC Firestone to see get more details. In the mean time you can check out the demo video above and choose between the Sense or the TouchFlo.

    • Windows Mobile 6.5
    • 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen transflective TFT display, 65536 colors (boo)
    • 600Mhz Qualcomm 8250 processor
    • 256MB RAM and 512 MB ROM
    • MicroSD expansion
    • Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
    • 802.11b/g
    • AGPS
    • G Sensor
