All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

Not too long ago Sony Ericsson gave us the first look at their Jalou fashion minded handset. At the time, the device didn’t look half bad considering it was all glamored up for the press images.

Today however, the same handset has found its way through the FCC from which the above picture comes, and I must say, what were the designers thinking? I mean, I could understand the fashion concious consumer going for the Dolce&Gabbana Jalou just because of the branding, but the oddly shaped device pictured above? Not so much.

So do you happen to wish for a BELLPERRE high fashion phone this Christmas? Well you are just in time as BELLPERRE has revealed its Silver and Golden collection. All the phones are available in genuine exotic leather and can be customized to your liking.

The main models are Yellow Gold, Rose Gold and Silver Edition. But you can add more than 100 genuine exotic leathers and 6 gemstones to decorate your handset. The sapphire crystal is scratch resistant so what else do you need? I’d go for WiFi, 3G, GPS and that sort of thing with my choice of leather and gemstones. How much for one? Well since we’re talking about gold and exotic materials the price might go way up.

LG Prada II Rumors

Remember the LG Prada phone? It’s updated, enhanced version - which, by the way, is not confirmed - is already making people sit up and take notice. According to the rounds doing the Internets, the phone, dubbed Prada II, will feature a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera and a wide QVGA display with touch capability.

As far as cell phone networks go, this one can happily work on 850/2100MHz as well as HSDPA. The thing is also supposed to bundle an FM radio and WiFi on board.

Here’s one more to the list of phones that I will never ever own. Fashion houses have tried their hand at bringing out haute couture phones, the fruits of which were the LG Prada, Armani P520, and Dolce&Gabbana V3i among others. The Christian Dior-branded clamshell falls into the same line, all dressed up with no substance inside. Dior has teamed up with ModeLabs to produce a $5000 cell phone that has a touchscreen display and a camera. Also accompanying the phone is a miniphone extender about the size of a USB key, which can be clipped on to a bag and most probably functions as a Bluetooth headset of some kind, which seems just about the only thing that gets my attention. That’s about it for the specs but if the looks have caught your attention already, you don’t need to know anymore.

The undaunted can get this pricey piece of fashion at $3500 to $5000.

Boost Mobile, a division of Sprint, unleashed the new Boost-branded Motorola i425t and i425e handsets, designed to work with Motorola’s iDEN network. The two walkie-talkie phones are touted as the slimmest models ever at 0.5″ thickness and weighing in at 3.88 oz.

The Motorola i425t is a candy-bar handset targeted at the style-conscious and comes in titanium gray/black slate trim. The Boost i425e comes in white with an espresso trim. As usual, you get tons of goodies right from wireless Internet access to MMS messaging. There’s Java support on the phones so you should be able to play games or run productivity apps on them. For IM, there’s support for AOL, Yahoo! and MSN.

Available as a Boost pay-as-you-go phone, the i425 is made of 100% recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate material. Options start from $5 pay-as-you-go service and both phones are now available online for US $39.99 each. Recharging is easy with Re-Boost cards available at Boost retailers.
