The The Mini Kin is a mobile, hybrid, universal power unit that stores up wind energy and traditional power from a laptop computer to it’s built in rechargeable lithium polymer battery. Just place the Mini Kin on your vehicle window, bicycle or arm to allow the wind to catch the fan and charge in its built in rechargeable battery. And then plug it into a mobile phone (or other devices) whenever its battery is low for instant power. As an alternative, connect the charger to your computer using the USB to keep up a charge.
The Mini Kin can charge a variety of digital devices including digital cameras, MP3 players, and mobile phones. Charging for 60 minutes can transmit energy from the built in battery to mobile phone battery permitting you to talk for up to 100-150 minutes. Mini Kin retails for £29.99.

Scientists aimed to achieve the same power as household air purifiers yet keep the appearance of the device as a tiny gadget which could be used for mobile electronics such as laptops. They were able to achieve their goal with the RSD5 solid-state fan — a cooling system as small as a microchip yet with the power to produce enough air to cool a laptop. The RSD5 solid-state fan utilizes a series of live wires to produce plasm — an ion-rich gas. The presence of the electric field due to the plasm pushes the neutral air out onto the un-charged plates which envelope the wires. The phenomenon called “corona wind” produces 2.4 meters per second of cooling air, an impressive speed for a cooling mechanism. It’ll be interesting to see what the technology would be used for in the future and how it would change the face of mobile electronics.
