All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

Nothing is exactly official right now but it looks like Best Buy appears to be the exclusive reseller of Nokia’s first netbook, the Booklet 3G. The good news is that Best Buy might end up selling it for just $599.99 which is about $200 cheaper than European prices. It’s still more expensive than other netbooks but then again the competition doesn’t have features like Windows 7, SIM-card support or 12-hour batteries does it?

The bad news is that no U.S. carrier seems interested in subsidizing it. You’ll only be able to get it from Nokia USA or Best Buy stores for now. We’ll be back when the Booklet 3G becomes officially available to confirm all these rumors!

  • If rumors are to be believed, it seems that for about 2 weeks Walmart will be the exclusive carrier of T-Mobile’s BlackBerry Curve 8520 starting on August 5th.

For those who don’t know the BlackBerry 8520 features a 320 x 240 resolution display, 2MP camera, WiFi, quad-band GSM and RIM’s OS 5.0. Unfortunately, those looking for a 3G capable device will be discouraged to hear that this will not feature said connectivity.

Alternatively, if you want to grab one ahead of the competition you can always count on eBay.

    Givori Via Veneto Classic Edition

Givori has come out with a new line of mobile phone handsets that are inspired by the famous shopping street in Rome. Via Veneto features authentic full grain Italian leather hand-finished with delicate metallic foil. The 18 carat Italian rose gold plating and 0.3 carat diamonds add to the bling too!

This newest collection is available in two editions - Classic and Exclusive. The Classic version features a snake-embossed brown leather shell and the second favors the ladies, featuring a gold screen, diamond encrusted logo and scratch resistant glass. There is also a comprehensive gift set that includes a crystallized perfume bottle. There’s still no word on pricing, but they probably won’t come cheap.

  • The Pre is coming and it’s coming from only one carrier in the USA. Sprint has the exclusivity on it at least for a year if not longer. According to CNBC, Sprint will be the only one selling the Pre at least until the end of the year, if not even longer. We’re counting on Sprint to be smarter than that and to have secured at least a two-year exclusivity deal with Palm. After all that’s what the competition did.

On the other hand we wouldn’t mind seeing the Pre available from multiple carriers especially since the handset is meant to revive the whole Palm business. Would you switch to Sprint to get the new Pre when it comes later this year?

    Motorola Aura Costs Just 2,000

Well I certainly don’t know what Motorola was drinking when it decided to launch a phone worth $2,000. That’s the price of the Aura. That’s the cellphone announced in October which is now available to purchase. That’s not that way to regain that number 1 spot the company is craving for. Not only is the phone really expensive but it’s also exclusive to Motorola’s website. That means you won’t find this extraordinary expensive cell phone anywhere else but on Motorola’s website.

$2,000 will get you a 62-carat sapphire crystal coating but nothing special under the hood: 2 megapixel camera, 2GB of memory space and a quad band GSM antenna.

Will you get this Motorola? No, of course! That’s what we thought.
