Spotted: Dell Latitude E-Series

Remember the E-Series? We were talking about them earlier this month and we were waiting for official confirmation. Well we don’t have to wait no more! Check out Dell’s official site and you will spot the Dell E-series Latitude laptops. You can’t customize them yet like you would usually start doing with any other Dell PC since there’s only a “Coming Soon” announcement displayed.

Asus Eee 900 PC
To Beers or Three Beers, this is the question! No, wait, I got it wrong, it must be the weekend.

To Buy or Not to Buy the Eee? This is the question of the week, day, minute. And I am not talking about the Eee in general as a concept but by the upcoming, Atom processor powered Eee PC. It’s rumored that anytime next week Asus will release the Eee PC containing an Atom processor. But the price rizes up to $650.
Here’s an idea, let’s throw in a DVD combo, let’s widen the screen to 13-15 inch and let’s give it an Atom processor and a 80GB HDD. We’ll conveniently call it Eee PC 1301-1501 and sell it for a little over $700. What do you guys think?

I guess we will know more about the Atom Eee next week.

  • Asus Eee 1000 to be Announced

We had a small notebooks day today here at MobileWhack with so many small laptops emerging from various manufacturers. The leader of the pack, the Eee inventor, Asus, will be launching soon the Eee 1000, which is a 10 inch notebook.

All this is bound to happen in a few days in Taipei at Computex 2008. The Eee PC 1000 is Asus’ way of answering to feedback received from their customers. They are asking for a bigger display and a wider keyboard for a better Eee experience, and I couldn’t agree more!

The Asus Eee 1000 will be available later this year and we hope we can count on some other hardwares upgrades besides the extra inch. Hopefully we will know more about this laptop in a few days. We’re also curious about the official release date and of course the price. If you are in Taiwan, give us a hint once you find out more.

    tangent-epc.jpg

Tangent has announced a new ultra-compact notebook called the ePC under ASUS‘ brand. Tipping the scales at just two pounds, the ePC has a 7-inch screen and comes in four models with up to 8GB of SSD storage and 1GB of DDR2 memory. There is WiFi and an easy graphic interface, which gives quick access to internet, email, etc. The price starts from $299 and goes up to $499 with its top model boasting a webcam, mouse, and a carrying case. Another interesting feature is “Talk to Me” that can launch applications, surf the web, or even power off/on with just voice commands. From the looks of it, the ePC is certainly not built for heavy business use but more of a casual notebook for functions like basic word processing, browsing, and sharing, similar to ASUS’ very own eeePC.

The ePC is available directly from Tangent starting at $299 in colors of black, pearl white, lush green, and blush pink

ASUS has released its highly successful EeePC 4G Surf in an exciting pink color. Sure to be a hit with the ladies, this pink version carries the same specs as the other 4G Surf versions. Of note, ASUS had already released it’s 2G version in pink earlier last year.

Although it does not boast high hardware specifications, EeePC is known for its easy portability and is aimed at providing a superior mobile computing experience. It weighs in just under a kilogram and comes preloaded with Linux, although it is compatible with Windows XP. It has more than 40 pre-installed applications designed to learn, play, and work.
