We talked about the Eee Keyboard all year long while waiting for Asus to make it official. Well guess what, folks, it’s still not available. The computer has been announced and then delayed at least a couple of times, and just when we thought we might actually see it in action we hear that the Eee Keyboard is being revised. Apparently the 5-inch resistive touchscreen panel is not good anymore and a capacitive touchscreen display will replace it. The new panel should offer a better touch experience as it will resemble the one found on various smartphones out there, including the iPhone.
The Eee Keyboard will probably not be available before Christmas so you can go ahead and scratch it off your letter for Santa.

At this point I’m not sure you guys should even make any plans for purchasing Asus’ hot keyboard-computer the Eee Keyboard. We’ve told you a bunch of times that it will be available soon but Asus failed to actually launch it. Now it looks like the Eee Keyboard is coming in October but there’s always a chance for Asus to change its mind. You should have ready $400 to $500 in order to acquire this baby and you should keep praying for Asus to really launch it next month.
I’ll quickly remind you what this PC is all about, just in case you forgot:

The Asus Eee Keyboard should have been available by now but this hot netbook is not coming anytime soon. Asus has delayed the launch and we might see it arrive in stores only sometime in October. There’s no official announcement just yet, but people say that the Eee Keyboard will cost somewhere in the $400-$500 range and that Asus will launch it after the Eee Top All-in-One PC that’s coming in September. So what do you think? Is it worth waiting for it?

Asus has a new Eee PC ready and you can pre-order it on Amazon for just $349.99. In case you don’t know what to choose between the 1005HA or the 1008HA I’d suggest the first one since its battery can be simply replaced by you. Remember that Eee Keyboard which Asus has presented a while ago? Well that tiny computer will be available in June so get ready to buy it. I’d still get a laptop instead of a Eee Keyboard but such a devices could come in really handy around the house or even at the office. Asus might launch it officially at Computex during the first week of June.

ASUS announced that they are now offering their Eee PC 1000HA netbook model with a new ” chiclet-style” keyboard that’s comfier and easier to use. Before this update, some of the keys were in non-traditional places which made typing by touch difficult. But that’s been rectified and the new 92% keyboard feels comfortable and responds accurately since the keys are divided and blocky.
The battery life has also increased to 7 hours due to energy-saving components like the Intel Atom processor, the LED-backlit display and the Super Hybrid Engine or SHE, which lets you adjust power consumption as needed. Other specs include 1GB of RAM, a 10.2-inch screen with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, a 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi B and G and 10GB of online storage. You can get the newly altered Eee PC 1000HA now for around $349.

An Asus representative said that the Eee Phone is doing good as it is definitely going to be launched later this year. Does this mean we’re going to see it at the MWC? Is the Eee Phone going to be able to face the titans of the mobile world? I mean we’re expecting a lot more from the Eee Phone. We need a really smart phone with a really cheap price. Is Asus going to deliver? Later this year?

As long as it has touch support.

I think I know what product inspired the concept keyboard in the picture. It’s the Eee keyboard we’ve seen at CES but it looks a lot different. This Apple Keyboard here can hold an iPhone or and iPod touch on that right side. On the same side we have six programmable OLED keys which are similar to the ones on the Optimus Maximus keyboard. The price for this gadget here is $79.99 which is not that bad, is it? Oh and did I tell you that the Apple Keyboard doubles as an iPhone/iPod dock?

I am surprised to find myself more interested in what Asus had announced instead of Apple’s latest Macworld keynote. So let’s forget DRM-free tracks and MacBook Pros for a change and focus on those new Eee products we might see rolling from Asus this year.
The Eee Keyboard has just been announced and it sounds really appealing. It’s a full-sized keyboard with built-in PC including WiFi and Ethernet, speaker, microphone and a 5-inch display and touchscreen. It will connect to any display and I am actually interested in playing with one whenever it gets out.
Moving on then to touchscreen netbooks then! That’s right, you heard me! The Eee PC T91 is a convertible tablet netbook. It will probably be ready for Windows 7 and it features an 8.9 inch LED backlit touchscreen, a TV-tuner and built GPS all powered by an Intel Z520 Atom processor.
Just when you thought we’d be done with all the Eee news we have one more fun idea for you. There’s an Asus 12.2 inch netbook that will get you 8-hours of battery juice (funny number considering Apple’s new battery) and a whooping 512 SSD which is certainly the first SSD that big to be planted into a laptop.

Asus has a new Eee Box for you to play with. It’s the Eee Box B203 which will sport a new Intel Celeron processor, the C220. Besides the processor we have Windows XP Home, 2GB RAM and about 160GB of storage space. Nothing new besides the C220 right? The price should go down about 30 Euro, but we’re going to confirm that later.

Asus wants a share of the touchscreen PCs market and who can blame them? With Windows 7 approaching manufacturers are going to do whatever it takes to have their systems sold before the competition wakes up. The Eee Top PCs is Asus’ idea of getting ready for the future. The current model brings you 1GB of RAM and 160GB HDD. And Asus is thinking 15.6 inch screens and even bigger. A 20 inch and a 22 inch version are likely to be released sometime next year. Hopefully the company is also thinking more RAM and HDD space.
We’ve seen the Eee get copied by everyone else. Are we going to see the Eee Top inspire other manufacturers to build similar PCs?

We’re waiting for the first touchscreen Eee PC netbook to arrive sometime next year and it’s probably going to see everyone’s netbook getting a touchscreen. If you want to experience the touchscreen Asus PC in about a month or so, head on over to England. Play.com is taking preorders for the Eee All-in-One Touch-Screen PC. The PC costs $399.99 or about $681 and it’s going to ship on November 20.
The Eee All-in-One Touch-Screen PC will have the following features:

Asus launched another netbook. What a surprise! This time is not exactly the Eee we’ve talked so much about, although it has the Eee logo on it. The S101 is more like a luxury netbook and it looks like a baby MacBook Air to me. (more…)

Well is it just me or have you also noticed the recent price drop for the Asus Eee PC 901? Amazon dropped the price for the 1000H to $449 while the 901’s price dropped from $599 to $499. That was yesterday. Now, at Walmart locations you will find the Asus Eee PC 901 for just $448.

LG is the newest mini-laptop creator out there. For some reason they want in on the Eee-like success business. They might just have what it takes to offer a decent mini-laptop out there. And they chose the perfect partners, MSI which might just be the best Eee competitor to date.
LG & MSI will combine their forces to create the first LG netbook, the X110. We are looking at a 9 inch panel, 120 GB, 2GB of RAM and the good old Windows XP in the shadows. That’s it? No ? GPS? After all LG knows how to implement such features.
Despite their intentions of making it in the mini-laptop business, LG will not create a cheap, affordable machine. They will choose a better design and material quality. A move like that will definitely push prices and it’s rumored an LG mini will sell from $625 to $790.

Yes the computer in the picture is an Eee PC. Yes it is a 701 version. Yes it comes from Vodafone with a mobile Internet plan.
It appears Asus’ Eee strikes again. Vodafone has picked up the 701 version and it launched the Vodafone NetPC plan. Besides the mini-laptop, the plan includes a “Vodafone Connect” USB modem which will give you access to 3G Internet surfing at speeds of up to 7.2MBps. For now Vodafone Portugal has it in store but it’s likely that other countries will follow. Vodafone is thinking out of the box here and it’s ready to offer the Eee 701 PC in two versions: a Linux based one and a Windows XP version. The prices will vary depending on what model you choose. Linux will get you a $313 Eee PC while XP will raise the price to $360. Besides that there’s a monthly Internet plan for the next 18-months to be paid. Check back with your Vodafone shop near you if you’re in Portugal right now.
