A few days ago the U110 Eco laptop wasn’t available on the US, but MSI made a good move today by importing the laptop to the United States, because the price and features comparison is pretty good.

The price tag of the MSI U110 Eco is approximately $430 and the specifications are the following:

- Z500-series Atom Chip running at 1.6GHz;
- 9-cell battery provides 15 hours of battery life;
- GMA 500 for the graphics;
- 10-inch display screen;
- 1GB of memory RAM;
- 160GB on the hard-drive;
- includes wi-fi, webcam, and Windows XP Home or Windows Vista Home Basic;

  • Samsung Electronics unveils another mobile handset in the Samsung S5500E Lydford, an eco-slider phone encased in a blue casing with special eco features. First off, the phone and packaging (made of recycled paper and soy ink) is made from recycled materials.

    Add to that the fact that unlike most phones, the Samsung S5500E Lydford even comes with an alarm that alerts you when the battery is full during charging times. This feature is a great highlight considering that most people today we want to save on energy. Also, this helps in preserving battery life and keep it from being overcharged.

    For the standard feature of the Samsung S5500E Lydford, it has a 2.2” QWVGA screen, a 3 megapixel camera and of course the eco-sliding keyboard. No word yet on the date of release and pricing for the Samsung S5500E Lydford eco-slider handset.

  • There Is No i.Saw!

    Remember the i.Saw we showed you a few days ago? We’re glad to tell you the device isn’t real. It was all a prank or better yet, a viral message telling us how important Mother Nature is!

    A few people went ahead and pre-ordered the device. They received the following message:

    Hello.

    We love that you liked the i.Saw enough to pre-order.

    Truth is, you already own a chainsaw. Your keyboard.

    Help save more trees by cutting down on unnecessary printing. Download PaperCut, a free application that plays the sound of a chainsaw each time you press Ctrl-P.

    Available for Mac and PC.

    Thanks for the support. Help spread the buzz, if you will :)

    PaperCut Team
    (formerly known as i.Saw Team)

    The i.Saw certainly made an impression and everyone that saw it will remember to cut down on unnecessary printing. Feel free to pass along the message!

    The Nokia N79 comes now in an eco-friendly form. This is another green initiative coming from the Finnish company. The Nokia N79 Eco will ship to you without a charger. You will still pay the same price but £4 will go to WWF since there’s no charger in the box. The box of the N79 Eco is smaller which means you’ll also save on energy and waste.

    Where will you get a charger from? Well you do have an old Nokia phone right? Or you can always buy an extra one from any shop. The N79 Eco is currently available in the UK but be sure to check with your local Nokia representative to see if it’s available in your country too.
