Those of you anxiously awaiting the release of the Nokia E72 have to wait no longer as the device was announced today to be available for purchase.
For those who don’t know, this S60-powered device features a 5MP camera, A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD slot with an included 4GB card.
Exactly where this is on sale, we don’t know, but Nokia assures us it is so when we find out we’ll let you know.

After whizzing through the FCC last July, it was only a matter of time before the NAM version of E71’s successor made an appearance stateside. Amazon is now offering the Nokia E72 on a preorder and if you have been waiting for the device to pop up online, you can go ahead and order it for $469. There is still no word on the actual release date or if there is a benevolent carrier ready to pick it up, but with triband 850/1900/2100MHz 3G network support, which is the frequency AT&T’s 3G operates at, we wouldn’t be surprised if AT&T announced the device in the coming days. Other features of the E72 include a QWERTY keypad, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, WiFi, GPS, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Yesterday we spotted the Nokia E55 making its way from the FCC and today we see its big brother, the E72 doing the same.
As you can (or can’t) see, the phone is completely unbranded which points to a likely unlocked version hitting the North American marketplace. This is good because you can use it on whatever carrier you’d like but bad because Nokia is likely to charge a fortune for it.
According to the FCC this E72 features HSPA 850/1900 along with quadband EDGE support all for use within North America. However, it also has HSPA 2100 support for when you aren’t in North America.

Back in February, Nokia took the time to announce their E55 smartphone but other than a few color scheme announcements, we haven’t heard much of the device since.
Today, it was noted that the E55 has made its way through the FCC effectively confirming its impending release for the US market. Then again, as Engadget Mobile points out, the above pictured device will only be able to run on the EDGE network with no 3G capabilities. Perhaps Nokia will update the phone before it actually hits the market to include said connectivity.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve never been a fan of the two-keys-per-button keyboard format. If I had to choose, I think I’d go with this device’s big brother the Nokia E72, but that’s just me.

Well, that was fast! Barely hours after we first heard that there was such a device, Nokia has owned up and announced the brand new nokia E72. The much sleeker look and well-rounded edges aside, the nokia E72 gains a few more improvements over the E71. The monoblock, QWERTY-toting smartphone now houses a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, a 3.5 mm headset jack to appease music lovers, and Symbian S60 Feature Pack 2, just like we knew already. What caught our eye the most was the new optical Navikey, which seems like a cool way to blaze through the nokia E72’s menus and functions. Look for this one to land late in the third part of 2009 with a $489 price tag. Watch hands-on video after the break to see it in action.

You thought that the E71 was a hot Nokia phone? Well apparently Nokia has a follower en route. The E72 is said follower and it appears it has been already posted and removed from YouTube. The phone will come with features like a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, an optical trackpad, a 3.5mm headphone jack and Symbian S60 FP2 for OS. We have no idea when the E72 is actually coming and how much it will cost but we’ll be waiting close by for this one.

This is hot news indeed. Ramalho Blog has unearthed an authentic-looking promo for two new Nokia devices, the E75 and E72. The E72 has a silde-out QWERTY keypad while maintaining some semblance to the already available E71 and the E75 has a QWERTY keypad below the display. Everything about the video looks real as far as we can say and both the E75 and E72 seem like great devices. From the video, we could say that apart from the QWERTY keypad, both the cell phones have WiFi, GPS, an accelerometer, and may be even HSDPA support, running as usual on Symbian OS. It might be a long time till Nokia announces these two handsets, but until then, we will be happy to bring you more information via leaks and slip-ups that seem to happen much too often nowadays. Skip over for the video…
