Mitac E100 Rugged Tablet PC

The Mitac E100 rugged tablet PC has recently been blessed by the FCC. This portable device offers IEEE 802.11 b/g wireless network connectivity as well as on-board class 2 Bluetooth. For added security, the tablet comes with TPM (Trusted Platform Module). It runs on an Intel Stealy 80MHz processor, and 1GB DDR2 memory. The display is an 8.4" TFT LCD, and there’s a shock mounted hard drive.

Designed for convenient use, you can easily work on the E100 while holding it in one hand and operating with the other. One of the neat things about this tablet PC is that it includes a numeric keypad and cursor control keys on the front - ideal when you want to use, for example, the calculator. For connectivity, it features an RJ-45 LAN port and two USB ports. There’s also a PCMCIA slot. Additionally, you can add on an antenna for 3G WAN connectivity or GPS antenna for navigation. There’s also a 3G SIM card slot at the bottom.

Bundled in the packaging are the E100 tablet PC, an AC adapter/cord and touchscreen or digitizer pen (depending on the model). No word on the pricing or availability yet, but should hit the markets any time now.
