As the need for drug information for various diseases such as the H1N1 virus continues to grow in need, here is one that makes its way via the iPhone. Tarascon announces the release of its iPhone app version with the Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia iPhone app, an application that continuously updates critical drug dosing information that is needed by healthcare providers and physicians.

The app is now available at the iTunes App Store for $39.99. It includes 12 months of continuous drug updates.

Here is a different kind of way to promote a cause. Cancer is certainly one of the most dreaded diseases we can ever come in contact with and to help promote the efforts of Pioneers for a cure, what better way to do it other than through songs from people who care in the music industry?

That is the intent of this new app for the iPhone, “Songs to Fight Cancer”. This app promises to deliver revived pioneer tunes for a fund raising initiative where each downloaded song is a point scored for cancer related care, treatment and research.

Embedded within the current 1.1 version of the iPhone App is a collective sing-a-long of 40 participating musicians mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain. From within the App itself, users can learn about the project, listen to streaming music previews, share information with others and connect to the Pioneers For a Cure website to make donations.

It is important for doctors and physicians to gain access to medical records of their patients since they use this to evaluate illnesses and diseases. Rather than the need to be at the hospital or clinic where they are practicing, they can now access records from anywhere with the use of the iPhone.

With Allscripts Remote, physicians can now safely make critical medical decisions even when they are away from the office, with all relevant information available on the one device they keep closest - their phone. Also available for the Apple iPod touch, Allscripts Remote delivers an interactive connection to the award-winning Allscripts Enterprise and Professional Electronic Health Records.

Capabilities include quick access to real-time patient summary information; fast communication to local hospital emergency rooms; convenient ePrescribing to the patient’s regular pharmacy; and real-time access to all the information a physician needs to make decisions, including medical history, lab results and medications.
