It seems that the Boy Genius Report has recently gotten word that AT&T stores in the North East have gotten shipments of refurbished 16GB iPhone 3Gs to be sold for $149.
It seems that these iPhones are only available to those starting a new line with a 2 year contract and are only allowed 1 per customer. Still, half off the normal retail price is still a damn good deal.
Anyways, BGR says that they aren’t 100% sure this tip is true, they have a pretty good hunch it is.

Rumors that the wildly popular Apple iPhone will be released this summer in a $99 version are rampant right now on the web. Will it happen? While a $99 version of the iPhone will undoubtedly sell well and crowd out some competing smart phones, the real impact would be at the other end of the spectrum, as customers who have been used plain old flip-phones trade up for the greatly improved bells and whistles that come with even an abbreviated version of an iPhone. High end customers will be swayed less easily, since cost is not as much a factor for them. Another problem is that one of the biggest companies to take a hit from the intro of a $99 iPhone would be Apple itself, whose profit margin on each phone would fall dramatically.
Summer is when the latest iPhone upgrades are set to be announced, and Apple is famous for keeping an element of surprise in every press conference, but will the summer announcement include a $99 iPhone? Most likely, the internet rumors are a trial balloon released by Apple itself. Whatever happens this summer, one thing is certain: It won’t be what anyone who blogs about Apple can predict.

The iPhone 3G is available on Best Buy but you already knew that. What you didn’t know is the special price it will have from now until January 3rd. You will be able to get an iPhone 3G for $10 less the regular price from Apple or AT&T. That means you will get an 8GB model for $189.99 and the 16GB model for $289.99. The $30 setup fee will also be waived but you will still have to get a two years AT&T contract. Will anyone offer a bigger discount for the iPhone 3G?

If you are interested in a cheap and entry-level cellphone but are undecided with so many choices, let me help you out by pointing the AT&T deal that sells refurbished Nokia phones, and one of them is the Nokia 2610 that only costs $7 with the discount. You get what you pay for, so with the 2610 there is space for a resolution of 128×128 pixels and a 65k color screen, 2MB of internal memory storage, and a battery that can last 4 hours in talk-mode, or almost 13 days in stand-by. Other features include instant messaging support for AIM, MSN, and Yahoo!, and ringtones in MP3 format.
