It seems that the Boy Genius Report has recently gotten word that AT&T stores in the North East have gotten shipments of refurbished 16GB iPhone 3Gs to be sold for $149.

It seems that these iPhones are only available to those starting a new line with a 2 year contract and are only allowed 1 per customer. Still, half off the normal retail price is still a damn good deal.

Anyways, BGR says that they aren’t 100% sure this tip is true, they have a pretty good hunch it is.

Rumors that the wildly popular Apple iPhone will be released this summer in a $99 version are rampant right now on the web. Will it happen? Most likely, the internet rumors are a trial balloon released by Apple itself. Whatever happens this summer, one thing is certain: It won’t be what anyone who blogs about Apple can predict.
