MetroPCS is the small carrier that could. It looks like the carrier has managed to create an impressive offer for anyone talking for hours with other countries. MetroPCS offers an unlimited voice plan for calling friends in more than 100 countries and it costs only $5 per month. This add-on plan does require an unlimited national calling plan of only $40 to $50 per month.
Here’s what Roger D. Linquist had to say about this new offer:
Unlimited international calling at such an affordable rate can dramatically reduce monthly long distance costs and is yet another example of MetroPCS’ commitment to providing industry-leading value to consumers in today’s tough economic climate. MetroPCS is eliminating the worry of high international calling fees, counting minutes and dialing a connecting number, typical of traditional calling cards. With MetroPCS’ international calling, consumers are truly unlimited now more than ever.

It’s been rumored lately that AT&T is looking into the possibility of lowering iPhone data plans. Will that convince more people to get the iPhone 3G or will AT&T offer new data plans when the new iPhone is coming out?
AT&T’s CEO, Ralph de la Vega has fortunately confirmed that rumor. The company is going to offer lower iPhone data plan. The catch is that the new plans will come with limited bandwidth.
Right now we continue to study what is the best thing that is available, not just from an iPhone point of view, but what you can do to stimulate additional demand. [W]e view Apple as a strategic partner for us, a very good partner to have now and into the future.
We need number AT&T, that’s how we’ll actually appreciate your intention. Will we get that rumored $10 price cut from a regular monthly iPhone fee?

Vodafone is certainly keeping up with the budgets of its customers. The company has announced a new data plan for the UK. Data users will be able to surf the internet for just 50p per day. That much money will get you unlimited Internet browsing and email access and it will be available starting May 1 for all UK customers that haven’t subscribed to a data plan yet. To celebrate the launch of the new plan Vodafone will be offering unlimited free mobile Internet browsing and email through the whole day tomorrow, May 1.

If you happened to pre-order your G1 you might remember how T-Mobile offered a free 3G network data trial coming with it. And here’s the bad news, or actually partially bad news. T-mobile has discontinued all that data once the trial period was over. That means you might have found your G1 without a 3G data connection ready to respond to your every day internet needs.
T-Mobile wanted its G1 customers to sign up for unlimited data plans while customers assumed that T-Mobile will turn their trial in a paid data plan. Assumption is the mother of all screw-ups and that’s why your phone doesn’t have a data plan. And I’m sure no one will even think about buying a device like the G1 if they didn’t need it for some heavy Internet usage.
As I said, partially bad news. Call T-Mobile and tell them you want the data plan and you will surely get it!
