If you’re looking for a Palm Pre in Canada then it looks like Bell is the carrier to go to. We have just heard that Bell will be the exclusive Bell carrier for a six-month period. In case you don’t exactly want to become a Bell customer then you’ll have to wait a short while until everyone else will get the Pre too. It’s funny how this six months exclusive keeps popping up. Sprint was rumored to have a similar agreement with Palm but Dan Hesse, Sprint’s CEO, denied everything. Will Bell deny the six-month exclusivity too?

Sprint is finally considering Android phones, or so does its CEO, Dan Hesse, say. Talking at the Fortune’s Brainstorm: Tech event in Pasadena, Dan Hesse said that he’s glad for waiting on Android:

T he reviews say now it’s ready for prime time. It wasn’t when it first came out.

Sprint will launch at least one Android handset this year and we hope it plans to launch even more in the future. Considering that T-Mobile isn’t interested in the Hero in any way, should we conclude that Sprint is the designated carrier for possibly one of the hottest HTC phones made so far? Or is Sprint going to launch a Samsung Android phone soon? Stick around! We’ll bring you all the details!

Verizon customers looking to get their hands on the Palm Pre in 6 months, like rumors suggested, are sure to be discouraged. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse took the stage at a press event and when informed of the rumors regarding Sprint’s Pre exclusivity running out in 6 months he responded with:

They need to check their facts. That just is not the case. Both Palm and Sprint have agreed not to discuss the length of the exclusivity deal. But I can tell you it’s not six months.

While this statement effectively squashes rumors of the Pre coming to Verizon in 6 months, the phone is inevitably bound to show up on the carrier sooner or later; when remains the question.

Sprint’s message on this one is pretty clear. Its CEO Dan Hesse isn’t cool enough to appear in TV commercials. He doesn’t have the same appeal like other CEOs in this business. That’s why Sprint decided to cancel the commercials featuring Hesse. Apparently viewers didn’t enjoy that cab looking like a limo especially during these strange financial times. Who is Sprint going to use next?

  • Remember when good old Steve Ballmer said the iPhone wasn’t going to make it? Well it looks like Sprint’s CEO, Dan Hesse decided he had to talk publicly against Google’s Android. He told the National Press Club in Washington that Android as it is right now isn’t good enough to put the Sprint brand on it.

But Android in the current form is good enough to sell in over 1.5 million units? What do you answer to that Mr. Hesse? What if Google made Sprint ungoogleable for a while in response to such accusations?
