Cricket has added one more cellphone to their catalogue, it is the HELiX made by LG.
The clamshell type of cellphone goes straight to the AWS 3G lineup, it is available in two colors, either pink or silver, and it costs $140. In terms of features, the LG HELiX can be considered a basic cellphone, it comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera, a speakerphone and bluetooth. With its low-end VGA camera, the CAPTR is hardly worthy of its vowel-dropping name, but considering the asking price, we’ll let it slide this time. Aiding the VGA camera, the handset also features voice-activated dialing, Bluetooth, and support for Cricket services like Mobile Web, Cricket MyHomeScreen, and Cricket Games and Applications. The only feature that might impress anyone mildly would be its $129.99 (which drops a further $50 if bought online) price tag, which more than justifies the lack of higher specs. Head over to Cricket if I still had you after the part about the VGA camera.

Cricket Wireless has presented a new cellphone named CAPTR, or in other words, capture. The basic cellphone goes right into the “flip phone” category and costs $130 - it is already available for purchase today, online or at Cricket retailers.
The tri-band CAPRT phone boasts a VGA camera, bluetooth, speaker phone, and the obvious access to all the Cricket mobile services. With a battery life of 250 hours in standby mode, or 5 hour in talking-mode, the device comes with two displays screens: on in the inside, and the other on the outside. It measures 3.54 x 1.81 x 0.74 and according to a Cricket representative, the intention is to “deliver a high-quality phone with camera functionality at a very affordable price”.

With a name like this, we are guessing Cricket won’t have much difficulty finding a few adopters on its network. The TXTM8, which looks eerily similar to the A45 Murano if it had round edges and a different softkey layout, is a no-frills handset that sports a full QWERTY keypad, stereo Bluetooth, and a rudimentary 1.3 megapixel camera, and tri-band CDMA support. There is also a microSD slot thrown in to load all your favorites adding up to 4GB, which can be played using the onboard music player. Available now on Cricket’s website for just $139.99 after an instant $20 web discount.

It was recently made known that the Motorla Evoke QA4 that was spotted on Motorola’s website last month has officially been made available through Cricket.
This little guy packed a 2.8 inch touchscreen keyboard which users can use to text message via an on-screen keyboard if they choose not to use the Evoke’s slide-out numerical pad. The home screen can be fully customized with widgets where users can do things like check up on RSS feeds or link to websites using the phone’s full HTML browser and 3G connectivity. Additionally the Evoke features a 2.0MP camera capable of capturing VGA video, Bluetooth functionality, voice activated dialing and a microSD slot for added storage.
The bad news? Motorola’s Evoke QA4 will run you $299.99. Still interested? Head over to www.mycricket.com for more information.

Cricket has announced the availability of Samsung’s new entry-level phone, the SCH-r211, on their network. Similar in form factor and features to Samsung Spex, which already found its way on to Cricket’s lineup last year, this new functional phone will be an ideal match for someone looking for a no-frills phone with basic cell phone functionality. The only connectivity option available is support for Cricket’s Advanced Wireless Services (AWS), which provides access to ringtones, wallpapers, and other downloadable content from Cricket including Cricket Games and Apps. Other than that, this candybar of course can make/receive calls and send/receive text messages.
The SCH-r211 is available now with a suitable price tag of $90 across all Cricket outlets.

Remember the simplicity cellphone from Nokia that we mentioned in April? Of course you don’t, because it is one of the most basic mobile phones ever created. Anyhow, the good news for people that enjoy simplicity, is that Nokia 1606 is now available at Cricket stores, with a price tag of $130 without contract, or $80 if you pick the web discount.
So, what does the Nokia 1606 has to offer? A tiny 1.8-inch screen located inside with a resolution of 128×160 px, and another display on the outside providing a 96×32 resolution, and placed on the monochrome category.
As for the battery life, only 3 and a half hours on talk time, or 11 days in stadyby mode.

Last March 8, 2008, Cricket made history as it launched the very first CDMA AWS (Advance Wireless Services) cell phone — the UTStarcom CDM7126. The new UTStarcom CDM7126 cell phone is first phone in the world to utilize the AWS spectrum band. Aside from said band, though, the triband UTStarcom CDM7126 also works with cellular and PCS bands. The UTStarcom CDM7126 cell phone is a metallic slider with colored display and Bluetooth connectivity. It’s now available in Cricket retail stores across Tulsa, Oklahoma, and will be available nationwide soon.

The Samsung SCH-r500 model of mobile phone would now be available to all Cricket subscribers across the United States. The release of the handset for all Cricket customers is on December 24, 2007. Despite the fact that it’s beneficial to all Cricket subscribers, I can’t help but think it’s a ploy to get people doing some very last minute Christmas shopping.
Due to the Samsung SCH-r500’s features such as mp3 player, bluetooth, up to 2GB micro-SD capacity and 1.3 megapixel camera among others, it seems Cricket is aiming for their younger customers. Of course, the fact that you can change the face plates of the Samsung SCH-r500 only helps ones desire to get it.
The model would be Cricket BREW capable, meaning you can download wallpapers, ringtones and the like using the service.
