For some reason eBook readers are more and more popular these days. After the Kindle we’ve seen Sony’s reader, Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Plastic Logic’s QUE. Asus is also working on a few eReaders and it seems that Creative decided to make one of its own. Dubbed the MediaBook, Creative’s eBook reader might be based on the Zii platform and it’s said to come with some very impressive features like a color touchscreen display ready to let you read all the eBooks you want and support for videos and pictures. Although this MediaBook did get leaked there are no leaked pictures yet. And it’s way too early for pricing details and release dates so we’ll all have to wait for Creative to announce the reader until we get too excited about it.

The Zii EGG is finally out in the open officially and starting today you might have your unit shipped to your door. As you can see in the hands-on videos above and below the Zii EGG is working perfectly. According to the lucky owner the screen compares “very favorably” with the S Series Walkman and the Zii seems to bring “the bet sounding Creative player” so far. What do you think? Would you buy a Creative Zii EGG or are you going to wait and see what new iPods are going to be launched in September?

According to the FCC, Creative is on the verge of launching two new MP3 players, the Zii and Zii EGG. Anyone having a deja-vu feeling? These players look similar to the iPod touch and the Zune HD. Which one would you choose?
We don’t have all the specs yet but it’s clear for everyone that these new players will come with HD cameras. This also powers up the rumor according to which iPods are going to get cameras themselves. The Zii and Zii EGG will also come with 802.11b/g WiFi and the Zii system-on-chip.
So what do you say Creative? When are you launching the new players?

Lots of important announcements today guys and gals. We’ve seen Sony unveil some of its upcoming products and now we have Creative telling us all about its hot Zii Stemcell Computing thing. And apparently “Zii is a super computer in nano size”. And it’s not a Wii gaming concept is it?
Creative has a ZiiLabs ZMS-05 SoC or System on a Chip. Creative’s new chip is really small. It’s 100x smaller, 100x cheaper and 100x greener than a typical super computer. As for Stemcell Computing that must mean that you could link an unlimited number of chips to do the job for you.
Now we need a product to pack the Zii so we can see what it can actually do. Until then it will be just a great concept.

By now you are definitely use to seeing the buzz around Creative and its Zii Steamcell Computing. Right now we’re wondering how that whole new thing will be possible with the recent layoffs. The company has decided to fire about 2,700 people which is almost half of its current workforce. Last year was one of the worst financial years for Creative as the company had a net loss of $19.7 million. With all that in mind, how do you suppose that the Zii thing will work out for us? Is it really a product that will blow our minds considering the current economical crisis?

What is Creative going to launch? Is it a new MP3 player? Is it a new gaming console? Is the Zii a Wii competitor? We’re anxious to see what that StemCell Computing is all about. To tell you the truth I am not sure what this Zii Steamcell Computing from Creative is. For now it’s just a teaser page and a link to Zii. com that says “Everything you know is about to change…”
So what is it? Is it a new gaming platform? Should we imagine a competitor for the Wii? It’s awfully similar to the Wii in terms of text fonts. Do we want a product similar to Wii from Creative? Will it have the same success? Will it be cheaper? And what’s with all that Steamcell Computing? When will we have some answers?
So many questions, so little time!

This not a joke but its a sort of a tribute to the next Chinese year, the year of the cow. No, you are not seeing weird things or strange faces, what you see in the image above are cow faces. It is a Zen Stone, wrapped in colorful plastic. This is the Zen Moo! That’s really its name, folks, still not a joke!
The Zen Moo, the latest Mp3 player Creative unleashed into this world, comes with a small OLED screen, 2GB of memory, an FM tuner and built-in speaker. It also has a game, which lets you feed and train your cow. What for exactly, nobody knows!
Right now it’s only available in China and I hope it’ll stay there. I had a better opinion of the Zen line. I don’t really take this Moo thing too seriously. The only thing I’m sure about is it can damage your kids’ hearing pretty well. I guess it was made for kids right?

The sales of this new model started two days ago, on the 1st of November, and it costs 10,800Yen which is close to $110. The color is the only new feature on the Zen, because the rest hasn’t been changed and we already know it:

Here’s a potentially mighty player from Creative, the Zen X-Fi. It’s no ordinary device either. It has WiFi, instant messaging client and built in media streaming. We have a built in speaker, and FM tuner and voice recorder. There’s an SD slot and premium quality headphones are included. The battery will give you 36 hours of audio playing and just 5 hours of video playing. My only questions at this point would be, where’s the phone chip? Where’s the GPS chip? If the X-Fi has so much stuff on already, it might be the predecessor of a Creative smartphone.
