All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

It looks like Microsoft is willing to leak as much info as possible about its future tablet. The Courier has been spotted again and it looks like the hot tablet is running Windows 7. We were certainly waiting for the Courier to run Windows 7. It’s not like Redmond has more OS ready to power up a tablet computer.

Microsoft is responsible for designing its own hardware just as it did with the Zune HD and the Xbox 360. The Courier will hit resellers sometime in mid 2010 which is probably when Apple’s future tablet will also be available in stores. Remember though that this is all based on speculation, rumors and leaked information. Microsoft will not comment on anything yet which is a clever move in order to keep us buzzing about the tablet.

Both Apple and Microsoft are working diligently, and somewhat secretly, on new computers for the masses. I am talking of course about the new tablets coming from both manufacturers at some point early next year. We’ve already seen the Courier from Microsoft and we’ve seen countless image leaks of Apple’s tablet.

No matter what tablet I will choose, I already foresee a problem. I will definitely need to connect a keyboard to the tablet whenever I’ll be writing since it will be really difficult to write efficiently by tapping on the screen. Or won’t it? While Apple’s work on the tablet is concealed from the public, Microsoft has filed a patent which brings an interesting twist to touchscreen keyboard design. As you can see in the picture here, it looks like Microsoft wants to make the keyboard appear whenever you want to write and no matter where your hands would be located on the screen. That way you’re writing should be as efficient as possible and you won’t have to keep looking at the screen.

And while we’re looking at the picture we can’t but hope that Microsoft knows what it’s doing. It will be awfully difficult to write anything with the letter “G” not showing up on the tablet.

Even the most faithful Apple fan should be interested in these renderings of the Microsoft Courier Tablet concept. The tablet has been leaked and it looks just great. At this point we’re curious to see what tablet is Apple going to launch but if what we see in these pictures here will come true then Cupertino should expect a fierce fight from Microsoft in this new tablet market.

Getting back to the Curier we can’t but notice the generous display made by two 7-inch hinged multitouch display. You can interact with the screens by using your fingers or a stylus and you can use both screens at once as the user interface permits various movements and actions from screen to screen. We don’t have all the specs but so far we know the Courier comes with a home button on the hinge, status LEDs on one side and an impressive 3 megapixel camera with flash and 4x digital zoom. Can Apple top all of that?
