Here’s something nobody expected from Windows 7. It looks like the new Microsoft OS and the iPhone don’t really like each other. There are various syncing issues already reported but Microsoft is not to blame this time. At fault seems to be Intel’s P55 Express chipset and its USB controller. People say that the iPhone gets recognized but syncing is not possible. We’ll be waiting for an official stance on the matter and the parties involved should better find a fix for it. The iPhone is the best sold phone so far and Windows 7 is already very popular. Naturally there are quite a lot of iPhone owners out there that will be using Windows 7 soon. And let’s not forget that Apple is getting ready to ship iMacs packing Intel Core i5 and i7 processors in November. Cupertino would hate to see similar syncing problems occur especially between iMacs and iPhones. So what do you say Intel? Is a fix coming soon?

What you see above is MSI’s recently announced GT640 gaming laptop which the manufacturers are touting as the “world’s most powerful gaming notebook”.

Under the hood of this beast is a 1.6GHz Core i7 720QM processor and a NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 with 1GB of dedicated RAM. Couple this with a 15.4″ 1680 x 1050 resolution display, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 500GB of hard drive space, a Blu-ray burner, 2MP webcam, HDMI port, eSATA input and last but not least 7.1 channel audio output.

    Sager launches NP8690 laptop

Sager has launched a new gaming laptop codenamed NP8690, which is also known as the world’s most powerful 15.6-inch gaming laptop, most probably because it uses the Intel Core i7 mobile and has 8GB of DDR RAM memory @ 1,333MHz. • USB 3.0 has been in the making for some time now and yet we still haven’t seen an actual consumer-ready implementation of the technology.

Along comes ASUS and debuts their P6X58 Premium motherboard touting none other than USB 3.0. In addition to the updated USB port, you’ll be getting 3 USB 2.0 orts, Core i7 compatibility, 6 DDR3 RAM slots, 3 PCI-Express 2.0 slots, and everything else you’d normally see on a motherboard.

Unfortunately there are no release dates or price points announced but if previous reports stay true we will see this thing hit the market before the end of the year or early next.

  • Now don’t get all scared/excited folks! This is just a rumor circling the web today. It seems that Apple is considering replacing NVIDIA chips in its future Macs as it looks like negotiations between the two companies have come to a halt. Is AMD/ATI stepping in? Are we going to see Apple work with Intel? Are the new Macs going to have Core i7 chips under the hood? Is that even possible at this point? Right now we don’t have any official position from neither Apple nor NVIDIA. We can assume that Apple is punishing NVIDIA for the recent chip defects spotted in new Macs. And considering the fact that the Cupertino-based company has been hiring lots of former AMD graphics employees we can also assume that something’s happening and the future of MacBooks might be totally different.

The Core i7 processor from Intel is something I’d want to test as soon as possible. It might not be as hot as some people say, but it’s certainly the processor we’ll be using in the future.

Dell has decided it was time it inserted it in some of its desktop systems. And let’s take a look at the first two, the XPS Studio and the XPS 730x. The Studio XPS desktop base model will get you 3GB memory, 256MB ATI Radeon HD 3450 GPU and a 500GB HDD for $949. Willing to pay more? $1,499 will get you 6GB of RAM, a 512MB2 ATI Radeon HD 4850, a 750GB HDD and a 24-inch S2409W Flat panel monitor.

The XPS 730x is gaming-ready. It can hold up to 6GB DDR3 memory, an updated thermal monitoring system and chasis and a choice between ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB and NVIDIA GeForce GTX280 1024MB. The 730x starts somewhere around $2,599 and no matter what hardware you choose, Vista and i7 will be there.

What do you think? Waiting for the Core i7?
