Bell Has a Palm Pre Contest

Those of you living in Canada can now win a Palm Pre from Bell. All you have to do is complete a form and hope you will be one of the lucky winners. And if you don’t win, at least you’re going to find out how much Bell is charging for the Pre. Why is that you ask? Well the law requires Bell to divulge the MSRP price for any phone offered as a prize in a contest. And that’s how we know that Bell will sell the Palm Pre for $650 CAD which is pretty close to what Sprint is charging for the Pre in the USA.

  • In case you were not aware yet, Sprint is holding a contest in order to raise even more interest around the future Pre. Besides the actual phone you’ll also get to win a Touchstone and a year of an Everything plan. And guess what? Among the legal documents, the actual price of the Pre has been found. The Palm Pre’s hardware is apparently worth $542.01. That’s the full, unsubsidized price of the device. Would you pay that much for an unlocked Pre?

The Winner will be selected on or about May 26th and you have about 4 more days to enter it since May 18 is the last day to get in. Two people will win a Pre each, the Sprint Everything plan and a Touchstone.

It’s official, the Billion App Countdown promotion recently ran by Apple has come to an end. Apple seems very satisfied with the reception of the App Store, proudly announcing that over 1 billion apps have been downloaded in 9 months.

But who cares about that, right? Who won the MacBook Pro, $10,000 iTunes Giftcard, and 32GB iPod touch? No one yet; as you can see above Apple is telling everyone to come back to the announcement page “soon” to find out who won.

What will future phones bring us? We’ve seen Sony Ericsson’s expectations yesterday but a 20 megapixel camera is not enough. We need more hot details! Today we’re taking a look at LG Japan’s Mobile Design Contest. Designs like the fbt, a phone designed to make braille text messaging available; the Tap, a phone similar to a light switch; and the winner, Planet Phone which you can see in the picture here. It’s surface is round and it’s dotted with LEDs shic represent the friends you have. The more you talk with some people the more centered the light marking that person. The more you ignore your ex girlfriends the farther away from the center the light gets.
