If the Pureness had you bowled over, the Radia concept you see above should have you positively drooling all over the place. Designed by Michael Laut, the Radia could well be mistaken for a pocket watch because of its round form factor, but is designed with more than displaying time in mind. The outer rim surrounding the transparent OLED display will be made of brushed aluminum, which adds a nice touch to the whole concept. The touch-ready OLED display can display a dial pad or a received message with equal ease, and the earpiece also houses the power button, leaving the outer rim intact. All this would make for a great device but that is up to the manufacturer’s as always and if SE is reading this, they might have found a Pureness successor already.

It’s not every day that we see a weird looking phone like the one in the picture here so we definitely have to share it with you. The DYA concept phone comes with some interesting features like round bubble-buttons and a weird screen which slides diagonally. While we can definitely understand the way that the buttons are arranged in order for you to use them even without looking at the phone, we can’t understand how we’d grow to love that triangle-shaped screen. Would you purchase a DYA phone if it was available today?

The S-Vision phone in the picture here is still a concept. And like most concept phones these days it’s trying to impress the audience. So what does this handset do besides taking calls and running some applications? The S-Vision doubles as a projector phone as it comes with a special swiveling lens on the side. The phone can be used for presentations on the go and we presume it comes with plenty of smartphone-like features and most importantly a great battery to support all that. When will such a phone be available? You’ll be among the first ones to know!

The phone in the picture looks amazing! Too bad it’s just a concept for now. The G0 is an Android phone that comes with a touchscreen and a slide-out camera. That’s right, there’s no slide-out QWERTY keyboard but there’s a camera instead accompanied by four customizable keys. The G0 also comes with an interesting inductive charger and a media hookup. Excited yet? All we need now is a manufacturer to fall in love with the concept of the G0 in order to start making it.

The concept phone here is designed by Tryi Yeh and it’s called the Magnet Liteon Phone. As you can see it’s made out of two parts which are held together by a magnet. Other features include solar panel cells for getting all that required energy and an impressive OLED screen. The screen can be positioned as you like in order to take advantage of the multiple features of the phone. Simply detach it and reattach at as you see fit. Just don’t forget it anywhere!
The Magnet Liteon Phone is just a concept for now and it might never find its way to consumers but some of the ideas here could definitely be used in the cell phones of the future.

There’s always time for another concept phone especially since we can safely assume that some carriers and manufacturers out there are praying for great cell phone ideas which could help them fight against the iPhones and the Pre. The Trou Hologram concept phone above will use holograms instead of regular screens. The 3D images will be simply projected by tine projectors situated on the inner surface of the hollow. Admit it, you’ would actually be interested in such a phone. I’d sure like to try out such a user interface!

This thing here is supposed to be a phone. A concept phone that folds and is equipped with OLED technology. The EOS from Kyocera will offer you a portrait QWERTY mode or a full-on widescreen OLED display. Basically there’s a solution for all your needs so you’ll be able to enjoy the way you communicate with your friends and family. Other features of the EOS will include memory keys that morph flat when they’re not being used and a recharging method based on kinetic energy from piezoelectric generators. When will we see one out on the market? Kyocera will be looking to introduce some of these technologies in the near future.

Combining two entirely different ideas of paper mail and e-ink technology, Fabien Nauroy has managed to create one of the best concept phones we have seen in some time, the Nokia E97. Dark sleek looks aside, the Nokia E97 has a unique pullout LCD screen, which can be removed from the handsetjust as you pull a paper from an envelope, and can double as a storage device or a desktop picture frame. The handset goes for an ‘AZERTY’ keypad shunning your usual QWERTY, along with a smaller LCD screen right above it. The whole package seems cool as ice but as for now, as intangible as any other concept phones we have come to see until now.

If there was one thing that the N95 8GB missed out on, I would put my finger on the lack of a touchscreen, which would have definitely made me hold on to it a bit longer before jumping on to the HTC wagon. Seems like someone on the Mobile Review forums had the same idea too, as the picture above shows exactly what I would have liked the N95 8GB to be. The above concept was created by an avid member going by the alias of beatmag and I thank him for giving me something to at least ogle at, unlike Nokia who has moved on and forgotten one of its best products that we have come to love.

No prizes for guessing what designer Juyoung Kim was up to when he dreamed up this fantastic concept. The Cyon Whiskey aims to be a chameleon of sorts and changes to different shades of whiskey based on the distance of the caller from you. So, if person calling you is overseas, the phone will take on a darker hue as compared to a call originating from your locality, which is designated a milder shade. Don’t even go into details like how the phone can detect distances, but just know that changing colors wouldn’t be its only high point as the Cyon Whiskey is loaded with a full touchscreen display and an 8-megapixel camera.

With most watchphone ideas that have been cropping up doomed to fail, Yanko’s “On Time” concept provides a glimmer of hope that the idea could work after all. Consisting of a stylish bracelet/watch with a detachable earpiece, the On Time Headset System seems to be the most probable concept that could woo people who have a decent enough fashion sense and stays true to the term “watch phone,” functioning both as a watch by displaying time and transforming into a phone when a call is received. Both the earpiece and the bracelet have LCD touchscreens to display call information and the detachable earpiece can be used for handsfree calling.
Any company out there brave enough to take this up and make it a reality?

The concept phone in the picture here looks pretty interesting but we’re probably not going to see it anytime soon. The whole handset actually includes three different devices, a rollaway flexible display which turns your phone into a PDA with a stylus, a regular cellphone with camera and a slimline cellphone that can be separated from the other components. In order to use it you will need a scroll tool or voice calls. I bet you like how some of this sounds, don’t you. Well, as we said, this concept phone won’t arrive anytime soon but it would be pretty interesting to test one prototype out.

So the phone in the picture here looks a little weird but it might prove to be quite a decent handset. The Granite Concept phone looks like a river pebble and it might feel weird once you place it in your pockets. It comes with a 3.1 inch touchscreen, a 3 megapixel camera, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and about 8GB of built-in storage space.

We have seen some really futuristic concepts and some that seem too far-fetched, but here’s something fresh that sticks to the basics with not many bells and whistles going for it. Designed by first-timer Andras Nemes, the Metell A1 looks like something that brings us back to reality and even takes us back a few years when a phone was just that, a phone. All it can do is play your favorite tunes, display some of your pictures on its widescreen, and make/receive calls. The design is also very simplistic with its all-white facade and gray front-bezel molded to the form of a candybar. Just the thing for anyone who wants to keep it simple if this ever hits the production line.

You might remember the Nokia Aeon concept phone we’ve shown you quite a while ago. It’s a phone we really wished for. Nokia failed to fulfill our dreams yet but other people also remembered the Aeon. Designer Jeffrey Gerlach has invented a phone that comes with a dual multi-touch OLED screen. Similar to the Aeon you say? So do I! It’s called the Ripple and it will also feature an alphanumeric keypad but also a virtual QWERTY keyboard and a mini USB port. There’s a 5 megapixel camera and an integrated handgrip. We’d definitely love to check one live? Will anyone start manufacturing the Ripple?

Talk about eco-friendly phones and you will end up with a phone similar to the one in the picture here. The Natural Year Phone is made of hay and the components will get recycled with the hay. In a couple of years you will have to replace it with a new one. There’s no screen there so I guess you’ll have to trade in all those videos and Internet browsing for a safer-for-the-planet cell phone. To tell you the truth I don’t see myself calling you from the hay but the concept is pretty interesting.

Designer Anthony Reed is responsible for this E ink concept phone. It’s a candybar phone which has its display splattered with E ink. That means all the text, all the graphics and images are going to be shown in black and white only.
There aren’t many specs other than the ink and the metal casing. In case it’s ever going to be picked up we’ll be there to cover its story.
