Cisco has recently confirmed a tech rumor that their Flip video cams will have some significant new features.

There isn’t word when the Flip will have them, but it promises a large screen that reveals the record and menu buttons underneath. By the way, there is also plans to have Wi-Fi. Does this mean you can take a picture and upload it to Flickr? I sure hope so.

  • We can’t say we didn’t suspect the next-gen iPhone to have this video editing software on board. After all iPhone 3.0 beta suggests that video editing will be possible so we should definitely assume that this much-requested feature will be available soon. Based on sources close to the matter Peter Burrows from Businessweek had this to say about the whole video editing thing:

Evidently, shooting video is as easy as it is with a Flip, the ingenious device made by Pure Digital (recently purchased by Cisco). Then there’s an iMovie app that lets you quickly save the sections you want, right there on the phone itself. There may also be support for MMS, so the clips can be shared wirelessly with friends. And because of the iPhone’s relatively large screen, your friends don’t have to schlep to your PC or their Facebook page to see that video of your kids or your safari. Just hand them your iPhone.

Sure you will say this isn’t Apple talking but we assume those inside sources now what they’re talking about. Will Apple’s next-gen iPhone still manage to surprise us or will we rather get a Pre instead? What do you think?

Did you think that AT&T was simply going to stand by and watch every other carrier launch their femtocell hardware? Well of course not! AT&T has a 3G MicroCell device which might actually get launched sooner or later. That’s right folks, we have no arrival dates and pricing for this one, but AT&T seems ready to start selling it. The device comes from Cisco and it will get you 5,000 square miles of coverage and it will allow up to four simultaneous voice data connections. The only downside is that this device will work with 3G phones. But you were probably going to get a 3G device too, right. It looks like AT&T has the edge over its competition as Sprint and Samsung only offer 2G coverage.
