Google has done it again and prepared an excellent gift for some airports on the US: it will provide free Wi-Fi in on many airports and I bet that scenario will make a lot of people very happy. In some cases there will even be Wi-Fi during the flight, that is, if you’re travelling on Virgin America.

The free Wi-Fi gift from Google start on the upcoming Thanksgiving and ends on the 15th of January 2010. The total numbers include 47 airports, and approximately 500 million passengers.

Marissa Mayer from Google, comments:

We’re very happy to extend our Holiday Wi-Fi gift to the millions of people who will spend time in airports over the next few months. We know that this is a very hectic travel season for people, and we hope that free Wi-Fi will make both traveling and connecting with friends and family a little bit easier.

  • We talked about the Eee Keyboard all year long while waiting for Asus to make it official. Well guess what, folks, it’s still not available. The computer has been announced and then delayed at least a couple of times, and just when we thought we might actually see it in action we hear that the Eee Keyboard is being revised. Apparently the 5-inch resistive touchscreen panel is not good anymore and a capacitive touchscreen display will replace it. The new panel should offer a better touch experience as it will resemble the one found on various smartphones out there, including the iPhone.

The Eee Keyboard will probably not be available before Christmas so you can go ahead and scratch it off your letter for Santa.

You might have heard of a little thing called Chrome OS which is going to be Google’s own operating system for future nebtooks. Unfortunately the new OS is not available yet and we’ll have to wait until mid-2010 to see it in action. That will not stop Acer from unveiling a Google-power netbook before the year’s end. The dual-boot machine should be available just in time for Christmas. That means you’ll be able to send greeting cards either from an Android or Windows XP interface but we’ll totally understand if you decide to ignore that old XP for a while. We don’t have pricing details and exact arrival dates at this time but it’s just the beginning of October. There’s plenty of time for Acer to announce Aspire One’s brother.

  • De Vere London simply had to keep up with all those other fancy designers which are making all sorts of jewelry iPhone improvements. Its latest creation is the Midnight iPhone. It is an ”all black iPhone 3G” covered in diamonds. If you want to mix hot tech with bling bling, this is definitely a way to go:

The all black ‘Midnight’ iPhone that we have produced was originally intended to show off the diamonds set into it. It was never intended to just be an iPhone with a plain black bezel, until we realized how good it looks ‘naked’. White diamonds look spectacular against a black background!

They can add any number of diamonds from 25 to 425. That could be a nice Christmas gift for any woman. Well except for the price which makes you easily reconsider! See the prices go from $794 for the minimal number of diamonds to $17,518.00 for 425 pieces.

    Zunes get cheaper for Christmas

Attention: If you’ve been meaning to buy a Microsoft Zune for a long time, right now is the best moment. Thanks to worldwide crisis and the need to make some money on something special like Christmas, Microsoft decided to drop the prices of all Zunes. With that being said, here are the current prices:

    Zune 4GB: $99
    Zune 8GB: $139 (was $149)
    Zune 16GB: $179 (was $199)

According to marketing director - Adam Sohn - from Zune, the cuts will “ensure hopefully we have a good holiday season.”

  • With Christmas a little more than a month away, carriers are getting ready to dazzle their subscribers. Vodafone UK has special phones ready for the special occasion. 16 cell phones and a netbook are lined up waiting for customers. Here are some of the phones you might be interested if you happen to be in the UK for the time being: BlackBerry Storm, Samsung Omnia, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, and Nokia N96 16GB. Besides these top-class smartphones, Vodafone has three more Nokia phones, three Samsung phones and four more Sony Ericsson phones.

The Dell Mini 9 is the netbook I was talking earlier and it will come free of charge, with a built-in mobile broadband modem and a bundled 2-year agreement. Go to Vodafone stores for specific prices and contracts renewals and get ready for a new phone for Christmas.
