The LG Chocolate GiG is available now. It’s a juicy new flip phone and comes with a 2 megapixel camera, a 2.2 inch QVGA main display, stereo Bluetooth support and a micro SD slot for up to 8GB memory upgrades. It weighs just 98 grams, which makes it a hack of a light phone.
Plus Telus has been playing with it for some time now and the result is the customers’ possibility to access Telus Mobile Radio as well as Telus mobile music. This should keep you updated on all the musical news in town!
All this can be yours for only $99.99 with a three-year contract, $199.99 with a 2-year agreement, $249.99 with a 1-year agreement or $299.99 unlocked.

The LG Chocolate 3 phone is another phone announced this weekend. Unlike its predecessors this isn’t a slider but a flip phone. But you already knew that didn’t you. And unlike the other phone launched this weekend, it doesn’t have that many apps available to use. Nor is it that popular too. And I am sure you won’t have to sleep in front of Verizon Wireless stores to get one. Not to mention it was supposed to arrive on July 14th.

There, I said it all, the next Chocolate from LG, the third version is coming to Verizon Wireless on July 14th. What more do you need? Go start a line in front of a store or something! Oh, I get it, you don’t exactly like Chocolate? Not the LG kind? Let’s see what LG Chocolate 3 is all about.
The first striking difference is the clamshell design. The previous models were sliders. I personally hate sliders as I end up playing with them all day long, which is quite annoying. The Chocolate 3, or the VS8560 as close friends like to call it, will be priced at $129 after $50 rebate as long as you opt in for a 2 year agreement. If you want just a 1 year agreement, the price goes up to $199 after rebate while a contract free phone costs $299.

Along with the LG Dare, there are two more devices that complete Verizon’s LG lineup for this summer, the LG Decoy and Chocolate 3. Both of these bring VCAST Music&Video and VZ Navigator support to Verizon customers, but differ in many other features that they have to offer. You already know of Dare’s headset-hiding ability and the five-way joystick the slider has to offer. The LG Chocolate 3, on the other hand, seems to be music oriented with a FM transmitter, media player, 1GB of internal memory, and microSD support for up to 8GB, all packed in a slim clamshell form factor. Clearly, an option for those with a penchant for style and a good music sense.
The LG Chocolate 3 will become available in July on Verizon, while the Decoy will make an appearance much earlier on June 16th.

Since touch is the flavor going around now, let me first tell you about the Dare touchscreen phone before moving on to two other LG cell phones that have made their way into Verizon’s lineup this summer. At the risk of being called an iPhone clone, or worse, an iPhone killer, the LG Dare features the revamped user touchscreen interface and an above-average 3.2-megapixel camera with a bevy of image-enhancing tools. The Dare is also capable of supporting Verizon’s VCast Music&Video and VZ Navigator, which being ready for some 3G action. Not an iPhone killer for sure but not too threadbare for an LG product either. Nevertheless, if you Dare to ward off the iPhone 3G’s charm, you can pick this baby up when it becomes available later this month.

All you sweet-toothed iPhone owners, here’s something that you might be interested in. A case shaped like a chocolate bar for your adorable first-gen iPhone. Made from regular silicone, the ChocoCase may not add a few pounds on you but will definitely bulk up your iPhone 1.0 by an inch or so. Sorry, iPhone 3G, the ChocoCase will not fit your round-edged, slim body. I don’t know about you but I would feel weird talking to someone on a chocobar. But if you still want it, head over to GizFever to get your saccharine fix at just $29.99.

Verizon Wireless announced that it has sold more than 3.4 million units, a figure rivaling that of the Apple iPhone’s performance. That’s an average rate of about 850,000 Chocolate handsets per quarter, which compares well with Apple’s stated intent to sell one million iPhones in the third quarter—the first quarter for iPhone sales—which it reached Sept. 10.
Verizon Wireless sells the Chocolate at its retail and online stores, as well as through mass-market, consumer electronics chains. Apple sells the iPhone through its flagship stores as well as through AT&T Mobility’s retail and online stores.
