While the bigger brother, the BL40 Chocolate, receives much adoration, we feel it’s lesser sibling deserves at least a bit of fawning over; after all, it is also a member of the Chocolate clan and manages to look the part. The non-touchscreen BL20 (which came to light initially as BL42) has touch-sensitive controls below the QVGA screen along with a slide-out keypad, 3G network support, a 5-megapixel lens, TextScan - to capture images of notes - and a widget hotkey giving easy access to info like news and weather. But why am I telling you all this when you can watch it yourself? Go ahead, hit the play button.

We’ve seen an official unveiling, we’ve seen promotional videos and we’ve seen FCC filings, but what we haven’t seen is someone actually get their hands on the device. What I bring to you above is a full video rundown of the LG BL40 done by mobiles.co.uk.
As you can see, the BL40’s 4″ wide screen is just as beautiful in real life as it looked in those promotional shots. Among various features showcased in the video, one feature that stands out to me is the web browsing which completely makes use of the whole screen.
Perhaps the iPhone will finally be getting a run for its money with this one.

It seems that LG’s much sought after BL40 handset has made it’s way through the FCC reportedly for a second time.
Above is a document from the FCC of a BL40g model. While we’ve never officially heard anything about the BL40g model you can make note that the document lists the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands which means this particular device will be all ready for North American 3G.
However, we still have no word on a carrier but our best guess points to Verizon.

You know, we could have waited till August to feast our eyes on the Chocolate successor, and if LG had been able to keep this promotional video under wraps for just a few more days, they could have had the grand opening that they had planned for. The authenticity of the above video is debatable, but the video itself looks professional enough and confirms many of the features that we heard about a while back and more. According to the promo, the BL40, the fourth cellphone in LG’s Black Label series, will have a huge 4-inch (not 3 inches like we heard the last time) touchscreen display that is not only capable of 800×345 pixel resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio, but can do multi-touch too. Other rumored features like a 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA 7.2Mbps support, and WiFi are all accounted for and the Flash-based 3D interface looks like a joy to touch through. A worthy iPhone competitor or not, the BL40 sure looks like a great heir to the ever popular LG Chocolate. Watch the video above and tell us if you think the same too!

First teased this morning, LG’s second-gen Chocolate has been extremely hyped for some time now. However, details on the phone weren’t supposed to be released until next month.
Well, if rumors are to be believed more details on the phone have leaked out. The phone’s model number will reportedly be BL-40, the screen will be more than 3 inches diagonally and feature a 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 800 x 345. Additionally, the handset will feature a 5MP camera and HSDPA.
Are these rumors to be believed? If so I’m likin’ what I’m hearin’ so far. I guess we’ll have to wait until next month to pass final judgement.

Ready for some more chocolate guys and gals? Well LG is certainly preparing for more. Although not official yet, the new Chocolate phone is in the works. The Spanish LG blog has revealed some pictures of the new Chocolate today and we definitely like what we see so far. The teaser photos briefly show the new LG while not revealing anything in particular. Exactly as a teaser should work. At least we know that more details are coming our way in August and hopefully next month LG is going to officially unveil its fourth model of the Black Label series.

Digital Chocolate is bound to score another hit with the announcement that they will be launching Tornado Mania. The said game is now available at the Apple App Store.
Redesigned specifically for iPhone and iPod touch, Tornado Mania! leverages accelerometer technology to enable players to control the movements of a tornado by holding the device like a steering wheel. The LG Chocolate 3 phone is another phone announced this weekend. Unlike its predecessors this isn’t a slider but a flip phone. But you already knew that didn’t you. And unlike the other phone launched this weekend, it doesn’t have that many apps available to use. Nor is it that popular too. And I am sure you won’t have to sleep in front of Verizon Wireless stores to get one. Not to mention it was supposed to arrive on July 14th.

There, I said it all, the next Chocolate from LG, the third version is coming to Verizon Wireless on July 14th. What more do you need? Go start a line in front of a store or something! Oh, I get it, you don’t exactly like Chocolate? Not the LG kind? Let’s see what LG Chocolate 3 is all about.
The first striking difference is the clamshell design. The previous models were sliders. I personally hate sliders as I end up playing with them all day long, which is quite annoying. The Chocolate 3, or the VS8560 as close friends like to call it, will be priced at $129 after $50 rebate as long as you opt in for a 2 year agreement. If you want just a 1 year agreement, the price goes up to $199 after rebate while a contract free phone costs $299.

Along with the LG Dare, there are two more devices that complete Verizon’s LG lineup for this summer, the LG Decoy and Chocolate 3. Both of these bring VCAST Music&Video and VZ Navigator support to Verizon customers, but differ in many other features that they have to offer. You already know of Dare’s headset-hiding ability and the five-way joystick the slider has to offer. The LG Chocolate 3, on the other hand, seems to be music oriented with a FM transmitter, media player, 1GB of internal memory, and microSD support for up to 8GB, all packed in a slim clamshell form factor. Clearly, an option for those with a penchant for style and a good music sense.
The LG Chocolate 3 will become available in July on Verizon, while the Decoy will make an appearance much earlier on June 16th.
