You can throw away all those leaked rendered photos and rumors out the window. Nokia has finally made the Nokia N900 official, releasing it together with the Maemo 5 OS. The Nokia N900 is expected to be unraveled next week at Nokia World.
Among the highlights of the Nokia N900 include an HSPA, WiFi and 32GB of storage into a touchscreen device powered by an ARM Cortex-A8 with 1GB of RAM. Maemo 5 supports desktop-style multitasking, Nokia Messaging and a new “cloud” UI.
Other features to watch out:
There is also a microSD card slot that allows you to increase storage up to 48GB. The estimated retail price for the Nokia N900 is about €500 or $712 and is due for release in October. Check out the official videos.

Along with announcements of the Nokia N96 and Nokia N79, the folks over at Espoo also unleashed the new Nokia N85 multimedia computer featuring a 2.6 inch, battery-saving OLED display. The feature set is pretty similar to the N79, including the integrated FM transmitter, 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA and Wi-Fi support as well as 10 pre-loaded N-Gage games.
Where it differs is in its dual slider design and of course the display technology. When the phone is in landscape mode, the gaming keys light up for an enhanced experience. The camera on this baby can shoot videos at 30 fps - which you can store on the included 8GB microSD memory card.

The Nokia 6500 slide cell phone, which we recently saw on the Whack, has been granted FCC approval, paving its way into the world markets. Equipped with a 3.2 megapixel on-board camera boasting Carl Zeiss optics, the 6500 slide offers a TV-out jack allowing you to make video calls on your TV. It supports microSD memory cards, and a USB interface for data sync. Push-to-talk facility is available as well, but of course your provider should support it.
The Nokia 6500 slide features a 2.2″ QVGA resolution screen. The camera allows you to capture video as well, but I must say I am looking forward to the TV out functionality more than anything. Up to 4GB microSD memory cards are supported on the device. It also supports Nokia Xpress audio messaging (which requires MMS to be activated on the phone). There’s also a full-fledged email client and IM app on the 6500 slide.
The phone appears to be on target for its Q3 2007 release, priced at €370.
