Before you buy your Motorola Droid phone you should know everything there is to know about it. For example did you know that accessories like the car kit and the dock aren’t included in the package? In fact each one will cost you an extra $29.99. The car kit will be known as the Phone Holder for DROID while the dock will be called the Multimedia Station for DROID. Both accessories will be available next Friday when the Droid becomes available. That means the price for the Droid has gone up by $60. I assume that you want to take advantage of Google’s new GPS application properly or use the Droid for watching videos in a comfortable position, don’t you? Then you do need these two toys too! So what do you think? Are you ready to purchase the Droid and its upcoming accessories?

So Mercedes Benz gets in line for offering its customers a new iPhone or iPod experience while driving. What did I tell you earlier about great marketing campaigns Apple has for its products? That’s why we don’t see any new features for the new Samsung Instinct being integrated into United Airlines. That’s why Mercedes Benz would cook up software and hardware devices made specifically for Apple’s products. Not because the iPhone became the best phone in the world.

If you’re the kind who’s always harried each morning as you drive to work, phone in one hand, comb at the other (what’s holding the steering wheel?), the Bluetouch car kit is something you’d want to consider getting. It’s a hands-free system which lets you listen to music or talk on the phone while driving. Controlling the car kit is as easy as tap-tapping on the bright touch screen interface. If touch screens aren’t your thing, you can also control it via its voice-recognition feature. All you need to do is connect your mobile phone/PDA/other devices to it via Bluetooth. Bluetouch Car Kit costs US$399, which is admittedly quite expensive. But then again, better safe than sorry, right?

IOGear’s new Bluetooth hands-free car kit will hit the markets soon. The model, cryptically called the IOGear GBHFK211W6, lets you make/receive calls when driving, and also doubles up as a portable speakerphone for your home/office. The device claims superior noise cancellation in the form of Digital Echo Cancellation and Background Noise Reduction. If you have a Bluetooth enabled laptop, you can use it to make VoIP calls as well.
One of the nice things about the IOGear GBHFK211W6 is that it can be charged using a standard car charger or over USB. A class 2 Bluetooth device, it supports a range of about 30 feet (10m). If disconnected from a Bluetooth device for more than 30 minutes, the device shuts itself off to save battery.
The packaging includes the Bluetooth hands-free car kit, a USB charging cable, car charger, easy-to-plug-in Sun visor clip and two AAA rechargeable batteries, along with a user guide. Pairing is easy, use the usual “0000″ code with your Bluetooth mobile phone or compatible computer.
No word on the pricing yet.
