Rarely would you see a mobile handset that can cater to dual-boot capability but it seems that Sunno is making that believable with their new Sunno S880. A dead-ringer for the Sony Ericcson Idou, this mobile phone boasts of a 3.6” WVGA display and a built-in 8 megapixel camera.

The Sunno S880 phone also comes with WiFi and GPS as well as an 806 MHz chip. But the real highlight of this phone is the dual boot. It can flip between the Microsoft and Google OS which is obviously catchy thing about it.

The Sunno S880 will reportedly be released on October 15. Pricing was not disclosed although it looks like the Sunno S880 mobile device may not even reach the borders of North America or Europe. Apparently it seems t be made for use only in China.

One of the underrated features of the Blackberry Smartphones today has to be their video capturing capability. Similar to most camera phones in the market today, the Blackberry series can likewise be used proficiently to capture and upload videos. Perhaps a new software in the RealPlayer SP can make things easier, just in case the real issue is concerning the software that Blackberry owners use today.

RealPlayer SP automatically converts video for playback on the powerful media player that comes on BlackBerry smartphones, delivering clear and vibrant video with great sound quality. And with microSD cards that currently support up to 16 GB per card, customers can easily expand storage to carry more videos wherever they go.

The RealPlayer SP Beta is available for free to download at the RealPlayer website. Support for h.264 video conversion, DVD playback, and DVD burning is available to those customers who upgrade to RealPlayer Plus SP for $39.99.

The age of androids and robots to assist humans has been heard of and with news that GeckoSystems has unveiled its own offering in the Carebot MSR 3.87, it looks like we are slowly advancing towards the future where both humans and robots will exist side by side.

“The new CareBot MSR 3.87 can automatically watch over grandma or the kids, patrol your home, and/or run errands for 8 to 14 hours continuously without recharging. This capability, along with GeckoTrak(tm) and internet-based video conferencing, enables our CareBot to perform like a family caregiver, enabling them watch over their loved ones, even when they can’t be there physically.”

GeckoSystems recently developed GeckoTrak(tm) hardware and software that enables the CareBot to automatically follow grandma from room to room. GeckoChat tells her when it’s time to take her medications, and can even remind her when her favorite television shows are coming on. GeckoChat is a specially designed assistive technology that enables caregivers to teach the CareBot what to say, and when.

The foregoing combination of sensor-fused technologies brings a new level of cost effective situational awareness to their adaptive, intelligent, multi-tasking personal care mobile robots. Situational awareness is the environmental understanding resulting from blended sensor systems and the common sense implications of those combined perceptions that enables the CareBot to “know” (i.e. be “situationally aware”), for example, when someone should be contacted immediately about the care receiver’s current condition.
