Okay so maybe the following handsets are not the all the phones Rogers Wireless will launch this summer but they will surely be among the most popular: the LG Rumor 2, Sony Ericsson C905 and Xperia X1, HTC Dream and Magic and the new iPhone. Here they are:
- LG Rumor 2 (Solo Mobile) — ETA: May 25th, outright: $160.00, 2-year contract: $75.00
- Sony Ericsson C905 — ETA: May 19th (delayed), outright: $449.99, 3-year contract: $249.99 ($299.99 without Rogers Vision)
- HTC Dream — ETA: June 2nd (limited quantity, availability will increase by June 12th), outright: $649.99, 3-year contract: $199.99
- HTC Magic — ETA: June 2nd, outright: $649.99, 3-year contract: $199.99
- Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 — ETA: June 30th (barring additional delays), outright: TBD ($649 - $749), 3-year: $299.99 (will launch at $249.99)
- iPhone — ETA: unknown (July/August), outright: not allowed, 3-year: TBD
Unfortunately there’s no clear indication as when will the new iPhone arrive. Rogers will probably launch it around the same time the AT&T will for a similar price. What phone would you choose?

T-Mobile has a new Sony Ericsson phone scheduled to be released soon. It’s the C905 which has just been approved by the FCC. T-Mobile will sell it as the CS8, which means its the version for T-Mobile’s GSM and AWS 3G bands. The phone should arrive later this year so both AT&T and T-Mo subscribers will be able to enjoy that same phone. Question is, who will be the first one to launch it?

We saw the Sony Ericsson C905 leak out a few months ago. The phone was ultimately released and is one of the way better Cyber-shot camera phones out there. Boasting an 8.1 megapixel camera, the C905 is equipped with a 2.4 inch screen that can be used in both portrait and landscape modes thanks to the built in accelerometer. Measuring 104mm x 49mm x 18mm, the phone weighs in at an arguably hefty 136 grams (4.8 oz), and is compatible with GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and UMTS 2100/HSDPA networks.
Packaging
Our review unit, provided by the folks over at PureMobile, came with the following items in the package:
The phone comes with a slide-out keypad with standard T9 input that is common on most other Sony Ericsson phones. The phone features a crisp 262k color display, which doubles up as your camera preview window.

One of the leading retailers of cell phones and accessories in UK, Phones4U, has revealed that the Sony Ericsson C905 is all set to invade the United Kingdom this October. That means customers looking forward to its new 8-megapixel lens and a host of other photog-friendly features, not to mention the GPS with geotagging, will have a short wait until as early as October 10, to get their hands on this Cybershot handset. Apart from its much-talked about lens, the Cybershot C905 also has WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA support, GPS, and TV-out functions. Details about pricing are not known yet.

That was fast! It’s been less than a month since Sony Ericsson went public with its 8-megapixel C905 shooter and now Samsung comes out of the closet with an equivalent shooter of its own called the i8510. And this time, it adds some Symbian S60 flavor along with 16GB of internal storage, WiFi, HSDPA support, GPS, and an optical mouse like the one with the i900. That’s not all, as there should be plenty of juice with the 1200 mAh battery and a 3D chip inside to play some really good 3D games. The DivX support is also carried over and you can record videos at an awesome 120fps on this thing, which can be watched on its 2.8-inch 16-million color display or on your TV set thanks to TV-out. All this packed in a neat slider package! Me wants one. No idea when or for how much this will be coming out though! Meanwhile, read on for more pictures…

Sony Ericsson has finally made it official! The 8.1-megapixel shooter in the CyberShot lineup will see a release somewhere in the fourth quarter of this year as will the S302 in the Snapshot series, who decided to go public with the C905. Unlike the C905, the S302 will feature only a 2-megapixel camera, more suitable for the casual photographer than a pro. The little one will also have Bluetooth, USB support, 20MB of internal memory with Memory Stick Micro expansion. While the S302 decides to stick to just Crystal Blue and Thunder Gray, the C905 will come in colors of Night Black, Ice Silver, and Copper Gold.
There are no details on the pricing yet, but at the rate at which the C905 turned from a rumor to reality, I don’t think we’ll have to wait too long.

Remember that leaked cell phone from Sony Ericsson called the “Shiho” we brought you a few days ago? Well, if you still have doubts about it being real, these pictures from ePrice, a Taiwanese website will surely convince you. As you can see from the picture, the Cybershot C905 is a tad bit bigger than a Moto RAZR in its folded form, although I don’t know why they chose that cell phone to compare with. Not bad in size for something housing an eight-friggin-point-one-megapixel camera, GPS, and WiFi among other goodies, right? We’ll just have to tough it out until the fourth quarter of 2008 to see this baby out on the street.

Some great news for photo enthusiasts at last! Sony Ericsson now looks to one-up all those measly 5-megapixel cam phones out there with the new Cybershot C905, previously known by the codename Shiho, which rocks an 8.1 megapixel camera with all the usual photogoodies like autofocus, face recognition, image stabilization, red-eye reduction, Smart Contrast, and Xenon flash as well as photoflash to boot. Now that means some really awesome pictures in A3 sizes and videos in VGA quality. Time to ditch your digital camera I guess.
