This isn’t the first time we reported on Bridgestone’s flexible e-paper, and the company has now developed the world’s first flexible e-book reader. This prototype has 10.7 inch screen, and is 5.8 mm thick. It can display color, by the way, and the company plans to test it out on consumers by spring of next year.

Bridgestone has been working on a new electronic paper display technology and it has delivered it. Besides all that color the new e-paper has one more useful feature, support for pen input. That’s right, you will be able to use a pen and play with it as much as you want.
The display itself is made from the Bridgestone QR-LPD electronic powder, the Wacom electromagnetic induction tablet and a color filter. Its refresh speed is what makes pen input possible. The refresh rate is 0.8 seconds compared to 15 seconds on the previous model. The device is not available yet and there’s no price for it yet. You know how it works…
